We just returned from an amazing week at Birch Lake Resort in Thessalon, ON — exactly the kind of spot I envision for a family cottage escape. The owners clearly take great pride in the property, making sure every guest feels comfortable and well-equipped. The resort features six cottages, and we stayed in cabin 2,3, and 4which wwere both cozy, spacious, and impeccably clean.||The cabins had everything we needed, from a coffee maker with filters to a microwave, stove, fridge, kettle, and all the necessary items. The deck was perfect for relaxing, outfitted with a propane BBQ (propane included), two Muskoka chairs, and within feet of the lake! ||One of the highlights of our trip was the fishing — the lake is teeming with smallmouth bass, pike, and perch, making it a dream for any angler. Caught my personal best 4.5 lb Smallmouth Bass! ||We caught plenty of fish, which made the experience even better|Every morning, we enjoyed the peaceful sounds of loons and the abundant wildlife all around. ||The kids loved the kayaks, canoe, and swimming platform with slide ||Also, The town of Thessalon was just 1 10 minutes away, making grocery runs quick and easy. For anyone looking for a fantastic family getaway or an incredible fishing adventure, I highly recommend Birch Lake Resort.

On their website they have two videos of a fishing show showing some excellent bass fishing. That was what sold me on booking a week of fishing there. Beware, I found out the hard way that the fish being caught in those videos were not caught on that lake. If you look closely at the videos you will see rocky shorelines and rock outcrops in the background. None of that exists on Birch Lake. We were very disappointed as having these videos on their website is misleading. We wouldn’t have paid the money to stay there if we had known that.

Amazing Fishing Destination! Andy the Owner is 1st Class, Very friendly, approachable, a wealth of Knowledge! Cottages are literally on the lake we even had our own Dock! PB was caught during our stay 5.5 lb Small Mouth Bass and lots of Pike! Cottages are clean, spacious and offer everything you need for an enjoyable stay! You won't find a better deal. Views are fantastic and you'll likely have the whole lake to yourself most day!!! Lots of other lakes to explore during your stay! Boat launch is awesome! Our go to spot every year!!!

My husband and I had a great time staying at the Birch Lake Resort for a week. I am so happy the owner took extra precautions to clean the place and left plenty of disinfectant products for us to use. The owner of the place was so nice and easy going. The view of the lake is spectacular. We had fun fishing and chilling at our cottage. We also took some short trip out for hiking. It’s about 2hrs drive to Lake Superior provincial park. We will definitely come back again.

Our family has been coming to Birch Lake Resort for years and we consider it or second home! Andy and Kimberly are two of the finest people I've met and take care of all your needs. Birch Lake is full of fish with abundant Pike and Bass. I can't wait for next vacation there! Great Atv trails are just a minute or two away.

This was our fourth time staying at Birch Lake Resort, but this was the first time under the new owner Andy. What a wonderful person he is and he takes such pride in his duties keeping his resort safe and comfortable for his guests! He made himself available always which came in handy when the water line broke and we all did not have any water, he had it fixed within 10 minutes!! We loved hearing about the ideas he has for the future of the resort and he is so knowledgeable about the area. We cannot wait for our next stay! Thank you Andy for allowing us to feel so comfortable and safe and able to thoroughly enjoy our family vacation without a worry in the world!! Enjoy the rest of your summer! 😊

We just got back from a perfect week at Birch Lake Resort in Thessalon, ON. This is exactly what I think of when looking for a cottage get away with the family. The new owner is Andy and it is clear that he takes tremendous pride in the property and ensuring everyone is comfortable and has everything they need. There are 6 cottages on the property. ||||We stayed in cabin 2 which was cozy yet spacious and spotless. Everything you could possibly need was waiting for us in the cabin including a coffee maker and filters, microwave, stove/oven, fridge, kettle, cutlery, plates, glasses, mugs....tongs, spatula etc. etc. etc. The deck had a propane barbecue, two Muskoka chairs and a side table which was perfect for my morning coffee. The deck is literally two feet from the lake and the views are incredible. Each morning we would listen to the cranes, loons, moose etc. etc. Wildlife was everywhere! ||||Fishing was great and the boats and motors were perfect. The lake is relatively small so the use of battery powered trolling motors was perfect. They were pretty much silent which allowed me to slip away without anyone knowing I was gone (or asking to come fishing with me 😉 Kayaks, a canoe, and a swimming platform with slide were a great addition for the kids.||||The town of Thessalon was a short 15 minutes away so we were able to do some grocery shopping throughout the week.||||If you are looking for a great getaway for fishing or with the family, I would highly recommend Birch Lake Resort.

Amazing place!! Can't say enough good things about it. First time in Thessalon, first time here. Amazing cabins! Amazing fishing! Access to the kayaks and boat was an awesome bonus! Family had a blast! Andy was super nice and helped us out with every question we had and ensured we had an amazing time! Lots of wild life in the area as well! We will all definitely be back soon, and with the entire family, so probably will be booking All the cabins at some point on the future lol! Thanks again for the amazing experience!!
