If I could leave a review with no stars I would. But in truth it would need to be negative stars in order to be an accurate review. Bev Huston not only failed to demonstrate reasonable care and skill with the management of my property, which has lead to over $100,000 in damages and expenses (spent to date with costs increasing). Black Gold Realty’s broker, Bev Huston, admittedly stopped looking after my property in 2018, despite having a management agreement in place. She continued to take her fee as well as renew leases for the tenants without attending the property to ensure the tenants, which she placed, were not destroying the house. Well the tenants were destroying the house, but all she was concerned with was getting her monthly percentage. She lied numerous times over the years in regards to the service she was providing and also lied numerous times after the damage was brought to light. Not only had the tenants damaged $50,000 worth of furnishing in addition to the $100,000 damage to the actual house, the house was uninhabitable for humans due to structural integrity issues and hazardous mold throughout, following the tenants and property manager not reporting a burst pipe in the basement with a massive leak, which decayed the foundation wall. The whole house had to be gutted due to the unimaginable amounts of mold throughout the home. It was so bad that the emergency cleaning company sent to try and clean the flooding basement was unable to do any cleanup as it was only going to cause more damage. I was lied to for nearly 3 years being told that my house was fine and that the only thing it needed was a good vacuuming and there was a small hole in the drywall near the entry way that the tenants would patch. She sent despicable emails trying to remove responsibility from herself and place blame on me as the landlord. To the point she said my house wasn't worth anything anyway! Please see the After/Before photos for your viewing nightmare to show the extent of the negligence demonstrated by this individual. Pictures don't lie.

Bev has been such a great rental manager for us. She always answers the phone and is prompt with repairs that need to happen in the house, for the tenants and owners sakes. I haven't worked with her to buy/sell, but I have for management and I'm so grateful. I honestly couldn't do it without her. Being a rental manager is a hard business, and in my opinion, people are lucky we have anyone who even wants to do this hard work in such a small town. Imagine if no one was willing to do it? We wouldn't be able to rent our houses out so easily.
