I've been going to this lake for 40 years. One thing that hasn't changed is the water as you can see your feet still at 4 ft deep. Hard to say that about most prairie lakes. No worries about algae blooms here. All sites are no more than 100 yards from the lake Shore. Great place to take kids to. Went when it wasn't crowded for ball tournament or swimming lessons. Was maybe 20% full during the week.

Downsides are:
- No reservations taken
- sites are of unequal quality and size so get here early on Sunday to get your pick of sites if staying for the week
- Washroom wasn't that dirty but was only cleaned twice thoroughly apart from garbage removal
- only 2 of 4 showers were working
- of non functioning showers, one had curtains but no head, while the other had a head but no curtains - not sure why that wasn't addressed by the caretaker during the week

Overall: great lake for swimming and having campfires. If you're interested in anything else you'll have to drive somewhere else to do it

Small lake, with a little bit of a beach. Swimming docks (there were signs about swimmers itch) and canoes for rent. There is a concession selling food like personal pizza, poutine and ice cream. The staff was nice and the bathrooms were good for camping standards. Showers were free and warm. Wood was reasonable. Biggest problems were the sites, many are extremely small/shallow and on an angle. The firepits are all different and we ended up with a tall one that had no lower holes for oxygen making the fire not burn very well.

Best lake around. Lots of grass instead of so much dirty sand (although there's a beach area for kids to dig in sand as well), concession, canoes, several playgrounds
