Amazing experience with Moses doing the whaling wildlife tour. He shared some of his peoples history which was special. And we were able get up close to gray whales and families of otters. The lady working the bookings was very helpful and kind too. We look forward to doing the hotsprings tour one day.

Our tour was with Moses and he was an amazing tour guide. The atmosphere on his boat was very laidback and he had in-depth knowledge of the area , the history of the people here, the animals and sea life, and had 70 years on the waters around Tofino. We had planned on a 2 hour whale watching tour but told us that we might not see whales so we went on the adventure wilderness tour. We saw bears, sea otters, seals and then he took us from the channel tour to the open water where we got to see a grey whale after all. Our 2 hour tour was stretched to a 3.5 hour tour and we loved every moment of it. This tour was on a 24 foot aluminum craft, we could walk freely about the cabin and stern section of the boat. At all one point we were beside another operator in the same area and we felt sorry for the 8 patrons who were all crammed together on a small zodiac craft and could not even stand up. We came upon one bear on the shore and we were able to move to the bow for better pictures. We will definitely recommend this tour to all our close friends and family! Thanks Moses and Clara for an amazing experience!

AVOID!! Apologies for the length...

We are a group of four from Germany and Toronto and had booked the Hot Spring Tour for 9 am. This was our last and only day to do such a tour – and it was completely ruined.

Already the day before, there were significant issues with the payment. We were told the price was $270 per person including taxes and fees. For two of us, she charged exactly that amount via eTransfer, but for the other two she charged $600 by credit card – 60 dollars more per person. Only after a phone call did the owner claim she would issue a refund and re-charge the correct amount, but she also demanded all of our credit card details. We are still waiting for confirmation that the $600 will actually be refunded.

When we arrived the next morning, excited and ready for the tour, the owner completely turned the situation around. Instead of handling things professionally, she immediately created conflict. She suddenly claimed the price was $300 because they are "the best" was completely arrogant about it and, when I mentioned that $270 was a fair and competitive rate compared to other companies, she insisted we should cancel and go elsewhere. Even though we clearly said we wanted to stay with her, she kept pushing us to cancel.

She escalated the situation even though we remained polite, respectful, and solution-oriented, simply trying to clarify the matter. Then, out of nowhere, she cancelled our booking herself and told my friends that I had been “rude.” She went further, saying that she needed to protect her Indigenous husband from “disrespectful people.” Up until that moment, we had no idea about his background – she was the one who brought it into the discussion, reframing the situation in a completely inappropriate and unnecessary way. We had done absolutely nothing (!!) wrong. It was clear that she was the one looking for conflict while trying to shift the blame onto us.

Even after I apologized in an attempt to de-escalate, she suddenly offered, at the very last second, that we could still go – but neither the captain nor the boat was anywhere in sight. The entire setup looked unprofessional, so we decided to leave. She then locked up the office and disappeared, which made the whole incident even stranger.

Later we found out that she already has a reputation in the town for this kind of unprofessional behavior – and no one seemed surprised when we shared our experience. This tour company was also the only company that wasn't sold out and we were the only group that was booked, so that perhaps should have been a red flag!

Fortunately, because the eTransfer password was incorrect, no money actually went through. But this woman behaved completely inappropriately, twisted the situation, and falsely accused us of misconduct, ruining what should have been a beautiful and long-awaited day. Totally unacceptable.

Everything as advertised. Moses Martin and his wife, Carla, were informative and helpful when we checked in and made reservations for the next day tour. Their son, James, was our captain and guide who was informative and gave us much information about the Clayoquot history and territories and of course we saw a wolf, an eagle, sea lions, a grey whale and black bears. We had 2.5 hours on our own to hike to the natural hot springs before our return trip (where the black bears were spotted). I highly recommend this fine charter company. Perhaps try Carla’s canned salmon while you’re there.

We had an excellent experience with our guide, Moses.

The big companies come with big, crowded boats. We were in a comfortable boat with just five guests. They take the time to ensure a great experience, finding whales, sharing stories and adding on some other interesting sights along the way.

Highly recommend.
