Très propre, confortable, personnel poli et courtois .|Nous avons aussi souper sur la terrasse et c’était quand même très bon malgré le peu d’achalandages, nous étions une quinzaine de personnes dans notre groupe et personne n’était déçu.

We stayed 3 nights and paid $407 plus tax per night for an ocean view jacuzzi suite which was so very disappointing. The main feature in the room is the jacuzzi which we paid a lot for and it is all cracked and ugly with pieces peeling off and the jets are not adjustable because the buttons have been glued on one setting- to top it off the jet on/off switch is away from the tub & cannot be controlled while in the tub. The curtains are filthy, not just slightly dirty but filthy!!! The owners should be embarrassed to charge for room 202. The walls have coffee spill marks on them in many locations, such an easy thing to clean & they just ignore it. I have read in many reviews that the rooms smell bad- I think it’s a combination of a very old building and carpet washing ineffectively by not changing the water which leads to a dank, dusky smell and the fan in the washroom does not work. Cleaning staff is horrible- they will not put clean coffee or water cups, they just leave the dirty ones for you to clean in the bathroom sink yourself and they do not wipe out the jacuzzi tub or empty the trashes- all they do is put clean towels partially- they will take away the bathroom floor mat and not replace it either. Parking lot is big and shared with the strip mall. Not all rooms are wheelchair accessible, our room was up a flight of stairs. Furniture and art near main desk is old, worn and ugly. We will never ever come back-clean your rooms, empty a trashes can-do better!!!
At least the bed was comfortable.

Had a fabulous mid-week visit to The Coast and it was superb from start to finish. The front desk staff was welcoming, kind, and super helpful. I usually have at least one question but they covered it all. The restaurant appears to have a new menu and the seafood pasta was spectacular! My companion had the chicken fingers and it was a huge portion with the perfect amount of batter, and not greasy at all. Our room greeted us with a view of the ocean and ferry, reminding us of this hotel’s perfect location, which also allowed us to walk everywhere. So thankful to be close to the Freya croissant café! We had a wonderful sleep in the comfy bed with ample pillows, and the room coffee was not even too bad. Little did we know a full breakfast awaited us! Not a continental, no. We had eggs and bacon and toast and hashbrowns! Anyway, this is a great spot if you wanna explore the area on foot or by car, and also if you are taking the ferry to Quadra and/or Cortes.

The Good: Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. I received two cookies at check in, which was a nice touch. Excellent location right in the downtown core. There are plenty of quick dining options just outside the hotel. Major attractions like the aquarium, museum, and art gallery are all within a walking distance.

The OK: Breakfast is included, which is always a bonus. However, unlike many comparable chains, there wasn’t a waffle maker. I did enjoy the freshly baked banana bread.

The Not-So-Good: I’ve stayed in many hotels across Canada and the US, but this is by far the oldest, most unrenovated property I’ve encountered. Honestly, it was a bit embarrassing. The room had a lingering smell, as if it had been a smoking room years ago, and the walls have absorbed the scent. The furniture was antique, but not in a charming way, but in a in a gross and worn-out sense. The AC unit in my room had very old physical buttons that barely worked.

I did notice in the owner’s responses that renovations are in the plans, which is encouraging. I’d love to return after the updates are complete.
