I adopted my sweet girl Hazel from Coldstream CountrySide Kennels on Oct 20. I’d like to mention how lovely the owners are and, how well cared for the dogs are at this kennel are. As someone who works and is trained in the veterinary field - I would recommend a great dane from Jayne any day. I’ve seen puppies and kittens adopted from the worst “backyard breeders” (which Jayne IS NOT ONE OF THEM) but Jayne goes above and beyond for her puppies and the dog she kennels. I wish I could give them a score higher than 10/10!

Love Coldstream Kennels. Jayne picks up my two small dogs, grooms them, brings them home. It’s convenient and she does a fabulous job grooming them.

I looked up coldstream because I got a new phone and needed to re-add their phone number. I was blown away by these "puppy mill" reviews that are 100% false. Here is my personal experience with coldstream:
My animals have been seeing Jayne and the crew at coldstream for 7 or so years now. In that time we lost our elderly rescue pup to cancer. It was during the time their doggy daycare bus was going around and my Curtis absolutely loved the bus. He sat every morning like a kid going to school waiting for it to pull up. My other dog Lexie, also elder, looked forward to it as well. Both dogs came home absolutely drained of energy and completely calm and happy. (BTW the one review talking about kennel cough, I remember this because my dogs, who were vaccinated, also got it. There was anhuge outbreak at all the kennels and even dog parks. I had a long conversation with the vet about it saying it was just a bad year for the virus.)
After we lost Curtis to cancer I wanted another large breed dog and it was the time Jayne had great dane puppies. I picked the runt, absolutely loved her. Being the runt there was no health guarantee (very common practice with breeders). Misha ended up having a reaction to her puppy shots and bleeding out internally. Not only did Jayne cover Misha's medical bills, she also brought Mishas mom to the vet clinic to give the puppy an emergency blood transfusion. Say all you want but absolutely no puppy mill owner would've ever gone to the extents she did to try and save Misha. Misha was diagnosed by vet, we also see the same vet as Jayne and he could vouche Misha was absolutely healthy before her first puppy shots.
I took a break from having another dog after Misha. But Lexie, our older beagle, waa severely depressed not having another dog in the pack.
I didn't hesitate when I saw Jayne had more puppies. We we got Castiel, he just turned 5 this year and is an amazing great Dane, just as Misha was.
Jayne and her family raise loving, sweet animals. They run a family buisness to which we still send our dogs to for boarding (just picked them up today after a weekend).
I don't care how long I have to wait for them during pick up (though if you give a heads up it isn't long), it if means my dogs are taken care of by a compassionate and kind family. If it means my dogs get to play with them and their kids, if it means my animals are surrounded by good people.
I really hope these positive interactions are enough to drown out the negative nancies that obviously have had no real interactions with this wonderful family. I'm happy to be long term customers with coldstream, it is the only kennel I trust and I will continue to take my beloved animals there. This family deserves better than unfounded gossip.

I have booked my Golden Doodle here twice now, both have been for a grooming and play day, and will not be going back.
The first time, I had to call, and wait around for Jayne to arrive at the kennel, because no one was there despite a scheduled drop off time. When I picked my boy up, he was definitely shaved alright; Roughly and at different lengths in spots and almost right to the skin in other various spots. I initially took that in stride and excused it with COVID delays in his long hair getting groomed and booked him in again.
The second time I arrived, which was this morning, I waited again for a solid 15 minutes with no one at the kennel, house, probably even the property. I had no phone available, and didn’t have time to wait around; I simply left and will not be returning. I explained needing to drop my boy off at 8 because I have a job to get to and cant just show up just when and how I want to.

If this is a business, run it like one. When you have clients booked, make sure someone is present when they arrive; hell leave a note so they know when you’ll be back even. When people call or email you, DONT HANG UP on your clients or just ignore their messages, as I have experienced this as well while trying to just book an appointment!
When our dogs play, someone should be there with them, and also someone should be checking on them to ensure they no one is getting rough or is sick and will make others ill; not leaving dogs just fenced in somewhere and abandoned for the day, like the four I interacted with this morning outside in the runs all alone.

This may have been an amazing and wonderful dog kennel once upon a time, but the care and ownership pride that once existed for this business, is no longer a priority apparently. I will NEVER recommend anyone else or bring my dog back.

Both dogs cane home terribly sick ... kennel cough that turned into pheumonia... Our one Great Dane is now in terrible shape and might not make it through .. THIS KENNEL completely ignored us .... BEWARE of the owner Jayne !!! She could care less about your animal .. the place smelled terrible and had a few malnourished dogs who she was trying to hide from us which looked it rough shape .. do yourself and your dog a favour and find somewhere else to board your dog unless you want to end up with a sick puppy on your hands and be completely ignored !! Not a call/email/message back... NOTHING!!
