Superbe soirée au Currents. Salle magnifique avec de grandes baies vitrées qui donnent sur le paysage grandiose de la baie avec les vagues qui viennent s’écraser sur les rochers. Nourriture esxcellente et superbe travail en salle de notre hôtesse, dont j’ai malheureusement oublié le nom, et de Nicole qui s’occupait de nous. Ça donne le goût de déménager à Ucluelet!

Located inside the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, Current is open to walk-ins for breakfast and lunch, while dinner requires a reservation — and for good reason.

The ambience is quiet, romantic, and perfectly complemented by stunning ocean views. Service was warm, attentive, and efficient — our food arrived promptly and was beautifully plated.

We started with the tuna and scallop appetizers, both of which were fresh, flavourful, and artfully presented. For the main course, we had the catch of the day, which turned out to be a prawn ramen. While it wasn’t particularly memorable, it was still enjoyable and well-executed.

Overall, highly recommended if you’re staying at the resort — the convenience, atmosphere, and service make it a great choice. If you’re not staying at Black Rock, it’s still worth considering, especially since dining options in the area can be limited.

The seafood chowder is an absolute must have. Best I have ever had. The seafood was so fresh and the dish rich. The risotto was yummy as was the steak. Highly recommend! Make reservations in advance. The whales showing up during dinner was an added bonus!!

While walking around Black Rock Resort, we discovered this restaurant by the cliffs and decided to give it a try — and it turned out to be a hidden gem. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the wine selection was just as impressive. After your meal, take a stroll along the cliffs for some beautiful photo opportunities. A truly memorable experience.

It is a beautiful restaurant with stunning views. Watching those waves while enjoying your meal was so amazing. The food was great.
The only thing I was disappointed about was that I made a reservation online and mentioned there that I was celebrating my birthday (I did actually went there on my birthday for birthday dinner) but not even once it was mentioned or I was wished by the host or the sever. 🥲 I wouldn't expect this at a fine dining restaurant. Just an acknowledgment would've made me feel special.

A lovely restaurant. The views from the dining area are unbeatable.

The food is very good. Especially the seafood which was cooked perfectly. The portions were also on the larger size.

My only issue was with the risotto. I got the veggie risotto which came with the catch of the day and my sister got the mushroom risotto. Both were a bit lacking flavour and neither tasted like they had any salt in them at all. I just found that disappointing given how good everything else was.

The restaurant patio facing the ocean is soooooooo gorgeous!!!! The food we ordered was also very delicious - fish & chips, dry rubbed wings, steak sandwich & scallop sandwich.

Currents in Ucluelet offers one of the most stunning dining views around, making it a highlight of the experience. The staff members were attentive and friendly, adding warmth to the coastal setting.

In terms of food, the S.B.L.T. was a creative twist, but the scallops got somewhat overshadowed by the stronger flavors. The fish and chips were good, though they didn’t stand out compared to other nearby options.

If you’re in Ucluelet and looking for ocean views paired with a well-rounded menu, Currents is a worthwhile stop. Just be aware that the scenery may take the spotlight away from the meal.
