Not impressed having to wait for a car at the airport when we had booked it months in advance. I booked it for noon and a car finally became available almost 2 hours later. Possibly they need to have a supply of cars available since that is what they are in business to do. Surprise! People get off a plane and expect to be able to rent a car from them.
I feel generous giving 3 stars. The company can thank their wonderful staff for that! They are the ones who have to be pleasant when they have to tell everyone they have to wait for someone to return a car before they can help us get on our way.
Wonderful experience returning the vehicle. Again, great staff.
Note to the owner of this business - maybe you are unaware but you shouldn’t be - you need more cars available!!!
You won’t see me back. There’s a lot of competition and you just lost me and probably all the others I was waiting with. There is just NO excuse!! Totally shameful!

If it wasn’t for Dollar rental, we’d still be stuck at the Halifax airport instead of back home in Ontario due to WestJet strikes. Our flight was cancelled, only a few hours before we were suppose to go home. We were able to book an intermediate suv with drop off in Ontario without a problem. I booked using their website and then went down to pick it up. When we got there, the staff was super helpful and kind. We were given a full size suv with an Alberta plate for the same price (already cheaper than we expected). As a family of 4, with teen children, we really appreciated the extra room as we planned to do the 16.5hr drive in less than 2 days. I appreciate that they did not charge panic rates, in fact the rate was so low the attendant at the desk was shocked. They only charge about $25 to drop off at another location.

You do get what you pay for. The rental rates are very low, but questionable if the saving is worth it. The people at the rental desk were excellent: helpful and accommodating. The problem is the Dollar Car Rental operational system (operated under Hertz Car Rental) is very poor quality. During a rental period I had to extend my return date. I waited on hold for 20 minutes to talk with customer service. I was told the rental was extended and I was billed for the extension. The day before my revised return date I received a text that my car was overdue and I would be charged a lot of money for recovery costs. I called customer service again and spent 30 minutes to resolve their failure to properly adjust their records. I think Dollar is good if do not need to make any changes.

Attention!!! Höchste Klasse SUV bestellt und nur einen kleinen Van bekommen, für 5 Personen und 2.500 km. Das bestellte Fahrzeug war da, musste angeblich in die Inspektion! Meiner Meinung nach eine Masche!!! Never ever Dollar!

I booked a 10 day economy car Sep 26- Oct 6. My wife and I have been loyal Thrifty/Dollar clients for many years. Website is very nice and user friendly. Will update afterwards. Sept 26/19. A huge thank you to Dollar/Thrifty for the free upgrade * WOW ! * a 2019 Dodge Challenger fully loaded w leather interior, Alpine 506 watt stereo, sunroof, keyless entry, heated / vented seats, XM radio and Navigation. Excellent start to my 10 days in Halifax. Loyalty certainly has it's perks at Dollar/Thrifty car rental. Update Oct 6 /19 . Once again the Stanfield airport Dollar / Thrifty car rentals location provided an exceptional vehicle that was clean and fully equipped. A huge thank you to all the staff from pick up to drop off, all very professional and courteous as always. I would rate this location absolutely 5 stars and I highly recommend.

Decent and efficient service. No issues. Taxes are not the company scamming you. It's the leftist NS government scamming the tourists. They have no control over the taxes.
