I decided to embark on this 3-night 4 days portaging journey for the first time without ever being on a canoe, with minimal knowledge of portaging, afraid of standing water, and on top of it, being a 43-year female solo traveller.  People said I was crazy, but I returned home, mind filled with beautiful memories and new discoveries, and heart filled with deeper gratitude for life.  Natural nature truly has the power to unleash hidden thoughts and feelings out of us in a gentle, magical way.

The passion and the love Driftwood Paddle Adventure has and for what they offer as a company to give the best experiences to the guests was beyond imaginable.  Not only did I feel welcomed instantly, but they were also encouraging, extremely experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of life.  All their equipment and gear were well treated and cared for, which is the extension of who they truly are as individuals.  The itinerary was well thought out, suited for my level of strength and skill, meals were healthy, creative and delicious, and the all-inclusive package made it extremely simple even for a new adventurer like me to pack and go and be worry free.

Sending my special thanks to Craig, my perfect Guide for being an amazing chef, teacher, and a new friend who helped me fill my adventure with learnings, challenges and incredible experiences.  This 4-day trip has become one of my proudest, most fulfilling adventures I have ever been on.  I am forever grateful.

An amazing experience reconnecting with nature and oneself. Although we didn't know everyone in our group right away, we developed meaningful connections that made 24 hours feel like a week. Like our guide Chris said, time in the backcountry really is different.

The entire experience was heightened with the delicious food, beautiful nature, and grounding yoga and breathwork sessions. I'm so grateful for this trip and would definitely recommend Driftwood Paddle to anyone who is interested in exploring some of the best that Ontario has to offer!

Driftwood facilitated a retreat for our men’s mastermind group that went above and beyond all expectations. Their love and passion for the land is matched only by their knowledge of the area. All of the provided equipment was high quality and in great shape.

The team communicated well ahead of time and made sure we knew exactly what personal items we needed to bring. Driftwood handled all the food and canoe equipment, I’ve never eaten so good in the backcountry.

This was a life changing trip for many of us. We had the opportunity to bond through teamwork while testing ourselves mentally and physically. There’s nothing quite like sitting around a fire talking with your brothers with nothing to distract you other than the incredible stars and sunsets.

We had an incredible journey into Algonquin Park. CK and Craig of Driftwood Paddle made our 2-night trip an experience of a lifetime. They made us feel safe, empowered and had us all leaving the journey with pride, strength and feeling reconnected with self.

I came out of the journey with a new perspective on life, recognizing the mental barriers I’ve been setting for myself and setting an intention to break through these barriers.

We recently had the privilege of embarking on a 3-day, 2-night backcountry canoe camping excursion with Driftwood Paddles, led by the exceptional Chris. From the moment we set off, we felt a deep sense of relaxation wash over us, as if the stresses of the world had melted away.

Immersed in the breathtaking beauty of Canadian nature and beach front camp site, we reveled in the tranquility of our surroundings, feeling disconnected from the world yet more connected to ourselves. The absence of city noise and light pollution allowed for the most restful sleep we'd experienced in ages.

What made this experience truly unforgettable was Chris's exceptional personality, but also he tailored the adventure to our preferences and physical fitness level (no small feat, considering we'd just completed the Toronto marathon two days prior!). His authenticity, kindness, and passion for sharing the natural world made him an absolute joy to be around.

The local ingredients and products used in our meals added a delightful touch, showcasing Chris's commitment to supporting the community and reducing his environmental footprint, which by the way he introduced us to our now favorite maple syrup maker!!

Our adventure into Algonquin with Chris Kelly and his crew was truly life changing. I came out of the bush with a new outlook on life and a clear mind and vision. CK and the folks at Driftwood Paddle have a special gift. They turned the already beautiful Algonquin into a magical place.

Before this trip, I often asked myself: What memories will I cherish in 10 or 20 years from now? Am I doing anything important with my life? What is the point of the daily grind we are all subject to?

The journey into Algonquin gave me the template for worthwhile experiences that I will cherish for the rest of my life. The bonds I formed with the men I went with are stronger than anything I've ever known, and I finally have a true appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and the short time we have to experience it.

I'm returning for another trip soon to experience the beauty of the park with my new outlook on life. See yall soon ❤️

Fresh off a backcountry trip with Driftwood Paddle and wow, what an experience. CK and Craig were amazing - from their warm welcome, stories and support to their knowledge and guidance along our journey and everything in between. I expected the trip to be good, but what occurred was truly magic. Epic adventures across the board. And the FOOD. Camp food will never be the same. What a beautiful long weekend drifting in the Algonquin backcountry. Beautiful memories, friendships forged, challenges overcome and my life will be forever different. Magic. Truly magic.
