My family and I recently did the combined Lakewater 1&2 course. Trish was an amazing instructor and she helped make the course very enjoyable for all of us. Although we have been canoeing the last few years, we all learned a lot and this course took our skills to the next level. I highly recommend taking this course if you are looking to advance your canoeing skills.

I would highly recommend Elements Adventure Company in general and the Level I Tandem course specifically. My wife and I approached Elements looking for a game plan to prepare us for an intermediate level whitewater trip of a lifetime up in the NWT in a couple of years. The owner, Charles, provided us a well thought out itinerary that would get us there using courses, trips and resources offered by his company.

The Level I tandem course was the first step on our journey and it didn't disappoint. The guides are competent, well prepared, professional and fun. The equipment was appropriate and well maintained and the course was extremely informative. The fact that we had a great group of co-participants to paddle and learn with on this gorgeous river was the icing on the cake.

The course focused on learning, practicing and utilizing core moving water paddling strokes, techniques and theory in a number of challenging but low risk scenarios. In addition we were taught and practiced throw bag and self rescue as well as T-rescues.

It was just the right mix of teaching and practice and I think we all left the experience with increased knowledge and confidence. Both my wife and I look forward to our next step in our whitewater journey!

I took Amandas 3 hr-Wild Mushroom tour at Mabel Lake as a total beginner. I soon realized that there was alot to identifying mushrooms and she was very thorough in educating the group on the various types grown in our area and what we need to look for. I now have noticed myself being more observant and being able to identify some of the mushrooms I come across on my hikes. Great way to get started on a mushroom awareness journey.

I'm just back from Elements Adventure Company's Kootenay River trip, July 16th-23rd 2023, full of praise for the expert planning and leadership provided by Guides Scott and Jean-Francois, along with Intern Ana, and for the beauty of the river itself. Scott's knowledge helped us all run the many braids and rapids of the upper Vermilion and Kootenay with skill and confidence, and navigate the Hector Gorge with efficient safety.
The crew's organization of each day's camp gave the group ample time for group conversations and private moments - and the meals were delicious throughout the trip. As a person who's always been on self-directed canoe trips in the past, I was really pleased to experience the extra degree of relaxation and pleasure made possible on this trip by the warmth, skill, and leadership of Scott, JF, and Ana. Ana accommodated us during our spring break and was a thorough, personable and knowledgeable instructor on our first moving water course. What a great way to spend several days with our teens - learning new skills on the water including paddle techniques, collaborative aspects of tandem canoeing and all the safely considerations in colder and moving water. We'll be back for more classes and would recommend Level 1 Tandem to anyone looking for a preliminary river course. Thank-you Charles, Ana and the Elements team.

I was blessed to join the Elements Adventure team on the 5 day intensive solo course at the Horsefly and Caribou rivers. It was a fantastic environment to upgrade your skills over 5 days with expert and well paced instruction on two beautiful rivers. Charles and his team are top of class for all things river canoe and the camping area hosted by Keiran and Amber was perfect for the outdoor camper. A great atmosphere of learning and sharing.

Did a tandem canoe course with Trish at Buntzen lake. It was a great day and 100% met our expectations. Class ratio was excellent. Trish was a competent and confident teacher. The skills I learned will really help our canoeing technique. Would fully recommend!
