Hand down best please I’ve stayed in. Location excellent very close to elk island national park where you can watch animals close by and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Elk island retreat team is top notch. They will make you feel at home while making sure your stay is up high end hotel standards.

I would recommend this place to anybody family, couples or single people wanting to explore some of the Canadian outback and nature.

I stayed in a geodome for three nights in early October. The check in was quick and easy and super friendly (both human and pup!!)!

The geodome is beautifully set up and very well thought out. The firewood I requested was already on site and was lovely, dry and nicely sized. The BBQ was clean and lovely! The outhouse was meticulously clean and well maintained!

The bed was very comfortable and you can't beat the view. The heat was just right to keep the chill off without it being too hot.

It was the peaceful escape I was looking for and I can't wait to book again in the future. Very close to Elk Island Park and a very easy drive from Edmonton.

If I had one small wish it would be that the pillows in front of the window were replaced with a little table and chairs. Would have been nice to have a little spot to sit inside for meals when it was raining out - but that is just a style/preference choice on my part and not a criticism!!

My wife and I visited the Elk Island Retreats -OoD mirrored sauna on Feb 10. From the moment we arrived, we knew that this was going to be a very positive experience . We were met by very gracious hosts who provided us with luxurious sauna towels, a map of the facility and good conversation. The property is very unique, well laid out and has some amazing options for staying at the retreat. RV lots, tent areas, geodesic domes, yurts, and wooden cabins are spread throughout the property. Mature tress provide superb privacy.
The sauna itself is out of this world. Truly as high end as one could hope for. I have only seen saunas like this in Europe. It was a wonderful surprise! From outside the sauna you see a very modern look, mirrored walls and a cozy deck for cooling off in-between the sweats. You can take a snow plunge right off the deck if that's your thing.
From the inside you have a private change area, warm wooden finishes and a superb tea tree scent . The sauna comes with a "how-to" manual, but it's not really needed. Follow your good sauna etiquette and you will be fine. Leave it cleaner than you found it and all is well. The wood stove is total perfection and has a nice set of sauna rocks for the steam. We sat very comfortably inside with space for two to four people.
We purchased our two hour session while at the Nordic fair during the Birkiebeiner registration, but online reservations and payment couldn't be simpler.
We will be back. Again and again. Great sauna, great people and such an amazing facility. Book now with all this snow and chilly temps, it's a very romantic activity that de-stresses and detoxifies. It's the best medicine.

Bring a picnic basket, or order a charcuterie plate. Our only mistake was not realizing how romantic this location is. The two hour session works well, but I might book 4 hours in the future and coordinate a lunch break between sweats.

We stayed at this place for two days with our RV and we enjoyed the whole time! Its a quiet Place, as we like it. Everything was clean and nice! Also the laundry was clean and in good shape! |We got a warm welcome at the check-in and found a very very friendly owner and his staff! The whole team was just great!! ||We booked the picnic in the woods and what should I say… IT WAS AMAZING!! We enjoyed every second! From decoration to food, everything was awesome!! WE LOVED IT!! Thank you thank you thank you for these beautiful moments that we have received through your effort! ||I can only recommend this place and if we travel to this area again, we will definitely come back here!

I could not have had a better experience. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Eagle's Nest Geodome for one night. It was a last-minute decision to stay here, and they were able to accommodate us due to a last-minute cancellation. Nathan was beyond friendly and so helpful in getting everything set up for us.

We order the vegetarian charcuterie board for the evening as well. It was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Let me tell you, that board was heavenly. I'd have paid for that cheese with my soul alone.

We stayed in the Solaris dome for one night. The location was nice and quiet and the Nespresso machine was a super cute touch. Unfortunately it leaked all over the place upon us trying it out. The decor and furniture were very beautiful. The list of cleaning duties that we had to do including setting the temperature for the dome was a bit much for the price that you pay. We found hair on a pillow we didn’t use which was very gross and we brought it to the staffs attention upon checkout but they didn’t say much. I don’t see us returning for the price we paid and the service we got.

What an amazing weekend we had here! We stayed in a geodome. It was pristine and beautiful and so trendy. The bed was comfortable. The amenities inside and out were absolutely perfect. With only being 40 mins outside of Edmonton it was so convenient and close. Their walking trails were also beautiful. This was the ideal glamping location. Above all - the staff were wonderful and super helpful! Will come back again for sure!

Wao Wao Waoo truly what a unique and beautiful experience we had at Elk Island Retreat! We stayed there for 2 nights and we wish it would have been 2 weeks! The first night we stayed in their Eagle's nest Geodome and it exceeded our expectations. It is so beautiful inside out and the decor and aesthetics were just incredible. Looking at the stars from the geodome while sipping our tea by the fireplace was just unforgettable. The second night we stayed in their "Woods" Cabin which was a complete different experience which we loved. The cabin was very cozy and romantic AND on top of our already marvelous experience we also got to see the northern lights! Thanks so much Elk Island Retreat, we can't wait to come back and visit!
