Booked with Expedia, when arrived she tried to charge me more then demanded a $400 room deposit in cash. Door would not open, went back to desk, was told staff would have to open room each time we left

Absolute dump, parking lot full of work trucks. Avoid at all costs

I have been staying here for the past 5 months and I will say that it's a complete turnaround from what it was known for and I highly recommend. Not only are the rooms clean and soundproof they have a area for smoking with a barbecue that anyone can use they Supply the propane, and they also are very good about privacy and their prices. I've avoided for way too long based on negative opinions that are untrue considering I stayed here when it was the Econo Lodge and like I said night and day. It is very close to the highway and right next to it there's a cool little shop with all kinds of treats and it's also very close to a lot of things like the Westerner as well as the theater and a lot of great restaurants

We recently stayed at Empire Inn and Suites with my family, and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect, close to major attractions yet in a peaceful area, allowing us to relax after a day of sightseeing.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The absolute worse experience of my life. Let me explain why:

Booking- I booked online through their terrible online booking service which makes you check out as if it’s a product rather than a service. Then I called a day ahead to make sure they had my booking and the guy over the phone said yes BUT when I actually got there they said they couldn’t find my booking and DOWNGRADED ME. I booked and paid for a King room and they downgraded me to Queen since they couldn’t find my booking and provided zero compensation for that arguing that it was the same price.

Rooms- They look nothing like it does online COMPLETE CATFISH. The rooms are dingy and cold with no heat , very noisy ( you can hear everything next door, outside) the room looks so beat up and there were actual dents in the fridge from what looked like assault from a previous tenant.

Overall it was DESPICABLE. I had to drive home to Calgary and not stay the night there because it was just that unsafe.

I’ve been here for awhile now and most of the staff are really great, but the guy that is here during days on weekdays is a horrible to deal with. ATM shorts me 20 dollars, I try to get night shift guy to look and he couldn’t be bothered to even count it just said “I don’t know”. When I bring it to the guy in the morning owner or whoever he replies “it’s never done that. And there is no witnesses” well guess what technology breaks who are you to say when it does or doesn’t and also go watch your camera then there was a witness and he was your staff but instead of Atleast helping he stood there with a blank look saying nothing I can do, then told me she would talk to the morning people. Well obviously he didn’t and It might be “only 20 bucks” but that was literally the rest of the money I had. Every encounter I have with him is not nice, considering all I do is keep to myself he could atleast come up with a better answer then telling me it hasn’t broke yet so he doesn’t believe me. Well guess what if it’s been years and no one’s complained then great but every piece of technology breaks at one point or another. But other then him, the other employees are awesome and very easy to talk too and outgoing. They are actually pretty respectful and keep good care of the place.

The worst service ever on my way to the hotel from a different city after work and they call to cancel my reservation due to giving away my room to someone else !?!?! Manager is not available to talk and this extremely unprofessional employee just hangs up. No where on your policy does it say that we need to be there before 6 o’clock just making up excuses as he made a mistake. Even though I still have a booking confirmation. Just says he cancelled on his end and that it. The worst customer service I ever received in my life. In no way did they try to provide a solution to the situation just hang up. Very poor.

Very disrespectful and disappointing experience. Would not recommend after receiving such service. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I am absolutely impressed to add how much they have cleaned up that place, and the value of the rooms are great. It feels like a completely different hotel, but the blue outside has to go. It reminds people of the bad rep it used to have. But otherwise it is absolutely fantastic. For someone one a budget It is well worth It. The prices are very affordable and their staff is super friendly and they are Just absolutely great. I suggest it to family and friends regularly, I know it can be hard to turn around a hotel that had quite a bad reputation in the past
None of those worries now .
