On est reste pendant une soiree; on a demande un changement a notre chambre, puisque on voulait etre capable de voir la riviere...ils nous ont trouve une solution rapidement. Service de qualite tres haute. Mes enfants into aussi beaucoup aime la piscine avec glissade. On reviendrait sans hesitation.

The booking went great, got through to a real person immediately. I got the last room which they held for me without a credit card. The room itself was nice but several things were annoying.
1. A horrible loud pressure pump went off intermittently my entire visit making my sleep very interrupted. It literally was so loud it scared me when it went off. Nobody mentioned that this room is located next to a maintenance room ? I tried ear plugs but the vibration alone was very jarring
2. No hot water for a shower. It was Lukewarm and never reached desired temperature at all.
3. The phones in the room were disconnected completely but still present in the room. To reach front desk I had to call using my cellphone.
Otherwise the place was clean and pleasant. I was hoping for some acknowledgment by the staff member upon check out, even just a $10 discount but they refused. Continental breakfast was kinda low rated as well.

Poor customer service, 4 days into our stay-I asked if our room could be cleaned and the toilet paper restocked. I asked at 9am and said we were leaving for a hike (could it please be done while we’re gone.) Got back to the hotel-no toilet paper. Asked again at 2pm-said we’d go to the pool to leave the room empty so they could clean it. Assured it would be done. Swam until 3:30 then went to check the room-still not done. Ask again and say please do it now! Sure, they’ll call housekeeping. Got changed at 4-still no toilet paper. Left for supper and when we got back the beds had been haphazardly made and there was toilet paper!

The hotel would have been nice back when it was built. There hasn’t been enough upkeep and maintenance done over the years.

We had a loft room which was old but clean. The upstairs was always hot and stuffy-even with the air conditioner on-it just isn’t adequate to reach the space.

The elevator is always out of order, so we used the back staircase which smelt of a mix of mold, must and perm solution?!

Very basic breakfast offered-toast,cereal and waffles. There is no staff at the breakfast area so you’re left moving empty coffee urns yourself or trying the front desk for help-which may or may not come.

Probably okay if you just need it for one night-not good if you need any supplies restocked. Customer service isn’t their strong point.

The kids enjoyed the pool and waterslide. The outdoor hot-tub is cracked in multiple places, with a rusty broken lounge chair adding to the ambience. The changeroom showers are dirty and the grout is full of mold. Definitely needs a thorough cleaning and update.

Had a great stay at the Fernie Stanford Resort. Want to give a shout out to Animesh, he was so courteous, friendly, and helpful. Always giving us information, ensuring we were comfortable and helping us with any inquiries. He did an excellent job, even let us know when there were additional items available for the continental breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay, the pool was a ton of fun for my 5 year old son, maybe a tiny cold, but what can you do? Great place to stay, especially with kids that love to swim!

My kids love saying here, we come very year. The rooms are a bit older but very clean and most of all we stay because they love the slide.

Note to management: the chlorine levels in the pool area are extremely high! The pool bleaches your suites and it’s hard to breathe after..please have someone adjust them. As a pool owner myself, it’s just not at an appropriate level. As well, the staff is extremely strict with the pool rules.

Our only disappointment was with the breakfast. There was hardly any selection of food and every table was really dirty because no one was cleaning them. We ended up having to go for breakfast elsewhere which defeats the purpose of complimentary hotel breakfast. We saw a family having to ask staff for cleaner and towels to clean their own table. Otherwise our suite and the location were great.

Stopped by for 2 nights mid August.

Overall: Great place and We will be back!! Make sure to get a room on the river side as highway side is busy.

Location is beyond great for the price range especially in the high summer early August period.

We spent a lot of time by the super clear River on the stone riverbank out back. People were paddle boarding, tubing fishing, reading books and taking their dogs for a walk.

We paid a very competitive for a room with 3 beds. We had to get the beds redone. There were stains on the bedsheets . Staff took care of it quickly and effectively once we talked to them.

Yes there is a decent pool and waterslide that’s great for families especially with kids over 2 or 3 and under 15 when you’re too cool.

Breakfast is continental with a waffle maker. I think it used to do a lot more.

Ohh there is a family of 7 beavers that lives on the down river side of the sandbank. They had supper every evening and let people take loads of video and pictures from up by the parking lot.

There is simple access to the river out back .this access is coincidental and does not seem to be part of the hotel. This is not easy river access for

Ferni itself has great trails even for beginner hikers. Fairy falls is a quick drive and a one hour hike (pretty easy but a little adventurous) away.

Overall it’s a mid 2000s resort in a super awesome locations under seemingly newer ownership that could use a renovation and a bit more attention to detail in the future. I am looking forward to see what becomes of this place.

If I could have a wish it would be a place to grill or picnic out by the river.

Final verdict Price and service match. A wonderful opportunity for a family to experience the mountains in the summer!

Avoid at all costs. We booked the Fernie Stanford Resort for a two-bedroom unit with air conditioning which is essential in 35°C heat. When we arrived, the unit had no A/C, despite being clearly listed as having it on Hotels.com. The front desk deflected responsibility, the manager was never available, and when I finally tracked him down, he was rude, dismissive, and blamed the issue on Hotels.com who deflected back to the hotel who insisted they could do nothing about it.

We also had issues our keycard and couldn't get in. Being let back in involved going to the front desk which was located on a different property. Maintenance wasn’t available until the next morning, and only showed up after we followed up again. We rearranged our plans for nothing. The manager eventually offered a pathetic $30 refund for the issues and claimed they “didn’t want to bother me” with updates. Nothing further for the sleepless nights in the heat.

The unit itself is dingy and dated, like a third-rate Air BnB. Management is evasive and unprofessional. And not to mention the cold pool and lukewarm hot tub as well as the joke of a “continental breakfast,”

Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else.
