Wir haben mit Footprint Nature Explorations fünf fantastische Tage im Desolation Sound verbracht. Die Tour war super vorbereitet und trotz der heftigen Winde auch für Anfänger super zu meistern. Wir durften Wale, Adler, Seesterne, Robben, Seelöwen und die wilde Küstenlandschaft aus der Nähe erleben. Eine unvergessliche Erfahrung!

Met John een dagtocht in de kajaks gemaakt langs de verschillende Copeland eilanden. John zit vol kennis van de omgeving, natuur en historie van het gebied en kan daar leuk over vertellen. Tijdens de tocht nog wat zeehonden tegengekomen, adelaars gespot en genoten van de natuur. Zeker aan te raden!

We had an unforgettable 2-day, 1-night kayaking and camping tour with Footprint Kayak. The scenery was breathtaking, the kayaking was peaceful and the wildlife encounters were extraordinary. We were VERY lucky to see both a humpback whale and a pod of killer whales, all from our kayaks - what an experience!!

John’s deep local knowledge of the area’s natural environment and history added so much meaning to the trip. The food was delicious, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of.

John runs a tight show! Great guide and very knowledgable of the Desolation Sound area. As beginners, he gave great tips to navigate dynamic weather and waters which made the paddling less stressful.

I really enjoyed our food. They were delicious, calorie dense and nutritionally balanced — perfect for post kayaking refuel! He has good historical and nature filled fun facts which I thoroughly enjoyed.

We went on a day tour through Desolation Sound with John and Wendy, who is doing a training course as a Kajak guide. Our experience was great and we were so lucky to get this private tour. John is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Desolation Sound, the marine ecosystem and its animals. We felt very save the whole time, received a proper safety introduction before setting off and the equipment is in a very good condition.
We stopped for a nice homemade lunch at a beautiful spot and returned later in the afternoon.
If you want to get on the water and learn something about the area you are on holiday, John is your guy 🙂 We will definitely be back!

We had a great one day tour with Wendy! She was very knowledgable on the surroundings and made us feel comfortable and safe during our first sea kayak experience. Great lunch and we saw seals, river otters and an eagle! Definately recommended!

Exceptional experience with Footprint. Owners John and Kristy are welcoming and very helpful. Our guide Wendy gave us a very useful orientation and took us on a spectacular adventure with wonderful commentary and brilliant stories.

We were able to get a couple of last minute spots for the Copeland Island's day tour. John was super helpful and sorted out the forms and reservation. The tour was amazing, we were guided by Kristina and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was our first time sea kayaking but she took us through the process and we had a blast. We kayaked for about 15km and had lunch on one of the islands.
I highly recommend footprintbc if you want to do kayaking around the area. We're hoping to join them one day for a longer trip around the desolation sound islands!
