We booked the summer tundra tour, had an amazing tour guide Jim, and luckily saw 2 polar bears and their cubs. On the tour they did a coffee break and lunch break all food supplied. The soup and sandwichs were delicious.

Kids under 5 aren't allowed on the tour. And after doing it I understand why. My only suggestion would be to add that information as to why they aren't allowed onto the site so people understand before booking.

What an amazing trip! This is a world class organization. The staff is so amazing! From our guide Bryan, our driver Tim, buggy driver Bob and many others! The food is amazing. We did a Northern Lights tour and will definitely be back for the Polar Bears!

We just got back from the trip of a lifetime with Frontiers North - having booked this trip ~2 years ago, we were very excited and safe to say we were not disappointed.
Guide / Driver:
Our guide, Mark, and buggy driver, Jim, were both phenomenal - so much knowledge between them, you can tell they want to make sure everyone has an amazing trip. They ensured everyone was cared for, they answered all of our questions, were always on the look out to make sure we had the best experience, whilst also being respectful to the bears. On our trip we witnessed another company who clearly had no respect for the wildlife, as they revved their engine to startle a bear, and drove away whilst it was still very close to their wheels. Frontiers was always respectful, and made sure to teach all guests how to act when we spot a bear and are observing from the buggy.
Accommodation:
We stayed at the Tundra Buggy Lodge which I would highly recommend, as it saves you so much time driving back and forth onto the tundra each day. There are many bears close by to the lodge, and you get to spend so much extra time each day looking for bears and other wildlife, rather than driving. Bonus - we got to see the aurora on our first night there too! The Buggy we had (and many of the others) are also EV now, which is great for the environment and made for a smooth and quiet ride.
Food:
The food is good - they were able to accommodate gluten + dairy free as well
Activities:
We were fortunate to see so many bears, so many interactions (sparring, mom and yearlings), and other wildlife as well (birds and even a fox on the last day). You can tell that the staff really appreciate the wildlife, and the environment of the tundra, and have a lot of respect for what they're doing out there.
The activities outside of the polar bears / Tundra Buggy were also really informative and a great addition to the trip.

For anyone looking to head up to Churchill, I would highly recommend Frontiers North, as well as Mark and Jim :).

I booked this bucket list trip last year, understanding that solar activity would be very high. Included my sister and she agrees this was the BEST trip ever. Mind you, I usually don’t use tour groups when I travel but having experienced a planned itinerary by Frontiers North, and if the others are as detailed oriented and focused on tourist satisfaction, we’ll have the time of our lives. I can hope!

Our tour guide met us in Winnipeg at the Inn at the Forks and the hotel was in the best location, next to restaurants and shops. Tammy was energetic and set the mood for us to expect fun ahead. She was with us every step of the way and reminded us that the online itinerary does change so link that on your phone instead of printing it out (hint hint).

We were greeted by Joe, our driver, who was very friendly and shared more about the town than anticipated (we stopped by the community center where life happens for the younger residents).

His counterpart, Mike, was a daredevil, leaving parts of his attire open for air conditioning. Mike explained how to capture the northern lights, so pay attention that first night. Mike will also be with you during the snow shoeing, if that’s part of your tour.

Our tour put us on the tundra for four nights. The best pictures include those with scenery as part of the lights. Probably the most important part of capturing the northern lights is that what you see is not as spectacular as what you capture. The naked eye cannot discern the vibrant spectrum of colors.

We met some truly amazing people and secured phone numbers to keep in touch. Really connected with R&J and V&M.

Frontiers North is more than just a great tour operator. They make lasting memories. Thank you Tammy, Joe and Mike!!

Wow, what a trip! Having booked 9 months beforehand, we were so excited for this. We were Tour 23 with Heather as our guide. She was an amazing tour guide; she was friendly, very knowledgeable, made sure we were safe at all times while in Churchill and kept us on schedule perfectly. And she put up with a lot from our boistrous group that had never ending jokes!

Jim our buggy driver was fantastic; he spotted bears out of nowhere and oh his stories - he was extremely entertaining, we loved him.

Obviously the highlight was seeing the polar bears, but going around the town of Churchill was really nice and definitely worth being on the itinerary.

We received outstanding hospitality and service from everyone we encountered - the drivers we had, the various servers for all our meals and the talks we were given. Everyone was just so friendly.

The trip was magical!

Book a one day tundra buggy tour to see the polar bears! Unfortunately tours don’t run every day making hard to combine with train/ flight schedules. Check in at their office was very efficient! The bus and driver to the rovers was excellent! It was very cool to learn and experience the buggy as it is an amazing piece of engineering as well to learn about the company projects such as the EV buggy as well how the lodge works! JP on buggy 13 was very informative, fun and made sure you are were safe!
We did see polars bears but I do wish we had drove away from the lodge instead of just going around.
Food provided was delicious: soup, cookie, wrap/sandwich, hot beverage and sodas too!
Btw there was a total of 40 people plus 2 staff; there is a bathroom on the buggy!
Tour starts at 8am ended around 5:30pm .

We took a buggy trip in mid-July to see the blooming tundra. Jim was our guide, and his stories were fascinating.
There were no great numbers of bears yet since the ice had not fully melted. Only a couple of bears were reported in recent weeks far from the town. We could see endless thick ice flows on the horizon in the bay, about 20 km from the shore. The bears should swim to the shore by the end of July—the beginning of August.
We’ve seen red foxes, an arctic hare, nesting arctic terns, seagulls, geese, ducks, and other birds whose names we could not remember.
We were fortunate to ride an electric buggy rather than diesel one. It was quiet and didn’t disturb the fauna. Amazing initiative!!! They will get a third EV buggy in September!
The snacks with coffee were served in the middle of the journey, and lunch an hour later (we could reserve vegan meals in advance).
Highly recommended, we will be definitely back for the bears in their season.

Just back from the fantastic Frontiers North Adventures Northern Lights and Winter Nights tour. One of the best trips I have had. Our Guide Bryan, Driver Tim, and Buggy Drivers Bob and Luke were awesome - knowledgeable, accommodating, caring and ensured our enjoyment and safety. Would highly recommend and will be back for the polar bears.
