This was the best vacation of my life. The beauty of Ireland was breathtaking. Our tour guides knew where they were going to give us the best views. During our drives to our various adventures, Joe our driver and tour guide entertained us with the history, stories and jokes. His songs and his voice is what touched my heart and with those views made it a magical experience. I knocked quite a few things off of my bucket list such as singing in an Irish pub, pouring and having a Guinness in an Ireland. Trust me, Guinness is sooo much better there. We stayed in a castle, did falconry, fished, had the most amazing view I’ve ever had from a hotel room. Visited the Aran Islands and ride electric bikes for the first time. I had too many experiences to mention them all. I had a tear in my eye saying goodbye to the wonderful people I met and our guides Joe and Sandy. They are the best and I completely recommend you plan your next adventure with them.

Our tour of Ireland exceeded every expectation I had for group travel by bus. There wasn't a detail overlooked, the venues were great, the itinerary was full, fascinating and fun. There was flexibility to accommodate special activities like a falconry tour and later riding e-bikes on the Aran Islands with leader Joe sailing ahead to guide us. Most of all - Sandy and Joe have the ability to impart their love of Irish culture and history in a warm, professional manner with songs and so many anecdotes that I felt truly connected with my ancestral past. Our crew of fellow travelers were lovely, which also enhanced our journey. I can't say enough positive things about Further Afield and hope to tour again with them soon.

Every day was memorable. The itinerary was wonderful, the accommodations were great, and we could not have asked for more congenial travel companions. You were professional at all times, made things fun & interesting with your in-depth knowledge and stories and experiences of Ireland, and adroitly handled special requests. And what other travel company serenades their tour bus group in the way you both did? So heart-warming and charming.

My wife and I toured Ireland with Further Afield in September 2024 and what a time we had! We saw and experienced so much beauty, history and wonder, it’s hard to comprehend we did it all in 12 days! Sandy and Joe took great care of each of us, and were so knowledgeable of everything Ireland. We were treated to spectacular accommodations, culinary delights and made many new friends. We were exhausted by the end, but our weariness was well worth it! If you think the price is too high, I can assure you than no one on this adventure believed that to be the case when the trip concluded. This a most definitely a value for money travel agency. I will be booking future trips with Further Afield.

What started as a sightseeing tour to Ireland became so much more. Our group of 23 strangers plus our guides Sandy & Joe, turned into a group of 25 friends. Our days on our journey included poetry, songs, history, literature, folklore, and perhaps a pint or two shared in a castle bar or a Guinness pulling lesson at a corner pub. Joe is a wealth of knowledge and was happy to share his love of the island. There was so much more on this tour than we imagined. Topping it off was the way it all happened so seamlessly. Sandy and Joe treated us as friends they had welcomed into their Irish home.
This was our first tour with them; but it will certainly not be our last.

My husband and I travelled to Ireland with Further Afield in September 2024. It was the first time we've taken an organized tour and it exceeded our expectations. It was so nice to have the planning done for us so we could just enjoy our trip. The first day, Joe told us, "there are no strangers here, only friends who've never met." How true this turned out to be! Our group of 23 travellers were such good company who enriched our trip. The places we stayed were magical - especially The Lake House in Killarney, Harvey's Point in Donegal and Dromoland Castle. We appreciated that we stayed 2 nights in all places but one, and our mornings didn't start too early. Excursions and activities were carefully chosen to give us the best of the best. Free time was also added throughout to make things more relaxed. And all the food we had was excellent! Joe and Sandy are so knowledgeable and at home in Ireland, and they shared their love and history of the place through stories, songs, and poetry. We had an unforgettable vacation and will happily travel with Further Afield again in future.
