The Gaetz Lakes Migratory Bird Sanctuary is an awe-inspiring educational resource for observing nature, hiking, and rejuvenating one's connection with the creation. The artworks and explanation of the history and ecology of the landscape are enriching. The connected network of pathways is an amazing resource for hiking and relaxation.

Absolutely ? fantastic nature area that is in the middle of Red Deer. The trail through the bird sanctuary is amazing. This is on the same property as the Kerry Wood Nature Centre so there are washrooms available. The trail around the sanctuary takes some effort and there is some steep terrain. There is a fantastic lookout on the trail. If you are visiting Red Deer or even live here, you need to take the time to come. My wife and I loved the Sanctuary.

Great walking experienced. There are uphills and downhills along the way. There are scenic spots that you can really enjoy the view. Some gravel and some are paved pathways. Lots of birds chirping around. Lots of trees shades. We saw some deer running around the bush. Highly recommended for walking.

Always a good choice, lots of wildlife and birds to see. The kids absolutely love it here. The harmony playground is great different structures can be used to make sounds, there's also a slide. Wishhart Trail is great but be prepared it's about 4 or 5 k long, I wouldn't suggest taking this trail with a stroller or anything but it could be doable if you have good wheels on your stroller. Plenty of boardwalks to check out. And lots of signs telling you about the plants, animals, insects, and history of the area. In summer definitely bring bug spray and water. Also in summer they do a goat run, where they heard goats down the trail, the kids love to watch them running. There's also an information center with a gift shop and bathrooms. They do lots of cool nature learning activities that you can sign up for.

A very special piece of nature amidst the bustling city. Nice, well maintained walking trails, cool lookouts and wooden paths, and benches interspersed at different intervals in case you need a rest. Lots of cool wildlife to be seen!

As a civilian walking through the center and trails, I can tell you it is so beautiful no matter what time of year. Everything is natural, almost feels like being in the mountains. Highly recommended for anyone in the area to stop by and enjoy. There is so much for the kids to interact with as well. Just amazing. 100% always recommend.
