This facility is really great. Family friendly with many youth inclusive areas and programs. I was impressed with the wheelchair accessible equipment available as well.

They expanded the building but completely overlooked the change rooms—still cramped, with lockers that are way too small. The new fitness area doesn’t even have showers, which is pretty shocking for a gym setup. Way too overcrowded all the time!!

There’s also no proper system for scanning in. It should be done at the fitness centre entrance with automated gates, not downstairs. I see people in there all the time without wristbands, and staff don’t seem to check.

And with all the extra space, they still didn’t add enough workout machines—especially treadmills. It’s a struggle to find one that’s not in use. Overall, the place needs better functionality and planning.

Just saw someone get kicked out for wearing Nike Slides in the fitness space. This guy was minding his own business and was very clearly lifting weights in a controlled manner. He Had the above 18 wrist band as-well. He clearly understood what he was doing. Ive seen him workout in those shoes or just socks when doing certain movements almost everyday for the last month and no other worker has said anything and or correct him. I Cannot believe how unprofessional the fitness workers/instructors, have been. The amount of workers there, not enforcing rules is ridiculous. Not to mention the wavier for injury risk was only for those 16 and under when i signed my son up and no one explains the rules when you're over 18 and sign up like i did with my other son. Very unprofessional

What a great facility. For less than the price of lunch, there are so many activities. The gym is huge and has everything you need. The staff is fantastic, especially the ladies behind the desk.
Only small complaint is the floors in the men's changing room could be cleaned a couple more times a day.

As a short-term visitor to Red Deer, I was looking for a drop-in fitness facility to do some weight training and cardio, as my hotel does not have a fitness room. The Dawe centre is an outstanding facility, with extremely affordable rates ($8.75 for full access per day), and clean, well-maintained equipment and conscientious staff. Spacious, well laid out, and if you don’t have your own lock you can rent a locker with a token lock for $1.

This is a no-brainer for anyone looking for excellent and affordable training.

INA at the front desk. Beautiful lavender hair. Colorful nails and the energy thats crazy infectious! She calls you by your name and has the time to ask how you are today! very personable and appreciated. After a long day coming here to the gym and seeing her would put a smile on anyones face! Give her an extra smile when you see her. She us deserving 😊

Went in today to get a rec pass they were absolutely fantastic. Very courtesy and professional. Even when I started to get frustrated (with myself not them) they were very patient with me. Thank you very much

Pool is nice, definitely could be better in some aspects but as far as I'm concerned, its not overpriced or anything. it also tends to be fairly quiet
