What an adventure! Amazing scenery, amazing wildlife, and amazing people to boot. The lodge is beautiful and remote. One of the few places you can completely unplug from the rest of the world for a few days and take in some of the most breathtaking scenery I’ve experienced. The people running and working at the lodge are so lovely. It’s no wonder this place sells out quick. Definitely a must visit if you can manage to grab a spot.

We had the best time! The staff from the guides and owners to the staff who took care of us at the lodge this was a five star experience! Small group of visitors all there to see bears and we saw the bears! Lots of moms and cubs catching salmon

Float planing through the low cloud cover onto a glassy surfaced piece of water in Smith Inlet, you find yourself in Bear country. The plane drops off passengers on the wooden dock that connects several structures that make up the floating community.

The rooms (upstairs) are small but nice and clean. You won’t spend much time there anyway. Downstairs is the kitchen and dining room. And the “prep” room where you put on your space suit for each excursion (twice daily).

Spending a few days here lazily searching for a mama and her cub is an escape in the truest sense of the word. I’ve never seen water this still. Not another human to be seen other than those visiting or working at the lodge.

The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. And capable. We were in great hands. Whether you actually see bears or not, this will be a trip to remember. (And you will probably see bears, from a proximity you never imagined…)

We spent 3 days here on the Great Bear Nature Tour. The staff makes your feel comfortable the minute you get off the plane and step on the deck. The rooms are immaculate and super comfortable. All 3 meals you receive each day will make you feel like you are in a 5 star restaurant. We came home with at least 4 recipes! The lodge only holds 16 people, so the service is very individualized. You will be busy every minute of your trip. The view is absolutely unbelievable. You will spend 3 days viewing grizzly bears, taking a nature walk and floating on the water in a boat viewing waterfalls. Absolutely the experience of a lifetime. Put this one on your bucket list!
