My husband, daughter and I completed a 3 hour guided kayak with our guide, Juan, and I can’t say enough amazing things about the whole experience. I felt completely safe the entire time, (I’m a relatively novice level kayaker). Juan provided technical expertise, background to the area, and found us great wildlife to observe. I highly recommend Gulf Island Kayaking to anyone who wants to get out on the water and explore the beauty of the Galiano surroundings.

I've been renting kayaks from Gulf Island kayaking for more than a decade now. They're always very accommodating, customer friendly, and knowledgable about the area. Highly recommend them for day trips as well as over night camping trips.

Our tour guide was Christina for Galiano island tour, and she was very patient with us throughout the tour. We are new into kayaking and love the idea of exploring the sea life and sandstones through kayak. Kayaking in the ocean was a bit intimidating for us but with the initial instructions from Christina and realizing with time to be gentle with our movements on the kayak, it was a smooth sailing. Great memories were made, laughters were shared and this is what matters the most.
My only advice to newbies participating in this would be to store your valuables- phones, glasses, car keys, wallet etc, in a floating dry bag or maybe don’t bring it with you.

Gulf Island Kayaking is fantastic! It's the second time we rented kayaks for three days from them, they are very knowledgeable, dependable and friendly. The second time we just walked on the ferry and booked their shuttle service, much less hassle and cheaper than bringing the car. Highly recommend to kayak up to Chivers point on Wallace Island and camp there.

Fantastic staff , boats are well maintained a wonderful way to see the local wildlife like seals otters and whales. You can either choose from a single kayak or double. A quick tutorial of water safety and self rescue at the beginning and you are on your way.
As with all sports and activities be conscious of everyone's physical abilities, as you will be dealing with tides and some current.

Make sure to bring water and sunscreen.

Was an amazing way to explore Galiano! Our instructor was knowledgeable and friendly, and the equipment was in great shape. Everything was as described, and fairly priced. We will definitely rent through them again!

Anastasia was the perfect host/coach for our amazing bioluminescence kayak trip. It was stupendously beautiful. I’m so sad we couldn’t capture it on camera but it will live on in my memory as a favorite moment. Perfect conditions, so much glowing, sparkly beauty.
