The best attraction Edmonton has to offer! Began operation in October 6, 1979, has 6 stops, 3.8 km length and price is $8.00 (round-trip). You get a mini tour of the city, enjoy stunning views, ride a historic streetcar, and learn fascinating facts along the way. It’s great for both kids and adults, and the streetcar has several stops, so you can hop off earlier if you like. Plus, Strathcona, where one of the endpoints is located, feels more charming and “human” compared to Downtown.

Very cool experience, and very affordable for what it is! 8$ for adults for a round trip. We hopped on at the garneau station, which isn't super easy to find, but you kind of wait where the path crosses the tracks on the south side of the high level bridge and flag down a car when they come through. The staff are super accommodating and genuinely seem to love their job, although they are all volunteers which is also pretty cool. They give facts as you ride, but are a little hard to hear near the back because of the noise, so if that interests you sit as close to the front as you can. Best views of the river valley, we really enjoyed it!

We departed from the Strathcona Barn on Sunday. Museum was closed but the friendly staff gave us access anyway. One of the restoration volunteers (Bob) who was on site answered all of our questions enthusiastically and even took us into the shop to see the car from Japan - what a thrill! The ride itself will provide you with the best view of Edmonton over the river valley. It’s so important that we support organizations that do this important work. It’s definitely one of the coolest experiences in Edmonton.

Totally worth doing as a local or a tourist! Took a half trip back from Jasper to Whyte - a very cool experience. Keep an eye out for the vintage adverts in the car! The conductors were super friendly and very helpful. Great little adventure!
