I have driven for HitTheRoad 4 times now in the past few years and every experience has been amazing. I am a big solo traveler and this service has made it possible for me to drive across all of Canada and through many of the states. Theres always time to enjoy the sights along the way and listen to all the audiobooks! I would definitely reccommend driving for them.

My name is Jacques Fournier and I am a retiree and volunteer driver for HitTheRoad.ca. Over the last 2 years, I have had the opportunity to drive a vehicle on 6 occasions for this transport service run by David Smaller.

I had the opportunity to drive a vehicle from Toronto to California on 2 occasions, another vehicle from Ottawa to Florida, another vehicle from Toronto to Florida, another vehicle from Florida to Montreal (emergency medical condition for the client) and lastly another vehicle from San Jose California to Ottawa. Every time I drove a vehicle from destination "A" to destination "B" David kept in touch with me and the owner of the vehicle I was driving making sure all was going well. One of the many important aspect of this service provided by HitTheRoad.ca is that David Smaller makes sure that all drivers he uses for this service are reliable, properly screened and interviewed before he is hired to provide this service. I had to go through all these requirements provide proper identification along with a recent driving extract before i could driving extract before I could drive a vehicle for David. As for the vehicle driven, David Smaller makes sure that all vehicles are road ready and in good condition before any driver take on the responsibility to drive it to the intended location. Every vehicles I drove were in great conditions and truly nice to drive.

David from HitTheRoad.ca takes care of getting the proper paperwork in place for the driver and client needing his service making it a trouble free and great experience for both the driver and the client providing the service and the client asking for the service. I truly enjoyed being an active participant and dedicated driver for HitTheRoad.ca and David Smaller. I am looking forward to drive for him again and see much more of the open road that both the US and Canada has to offer and also meeting some nice people.

This is not a job where a driver gets paid a salary to drive a vehicle. It is an economic way to travel the roads in both Canada and the US or another economic way of transportation that travellers or retirees can use for their vacation destination. The driver will usually be offered enough money to cover fuel expenses some but not all your trip incidentals from the pick up location of a vehicle to a destination location of that same vehicle. The money offered is not a salary but more towards sharing some of the expenses a driver encounters for driving somebody else's vehicle from point"A" to point"B".

I have had the opportunity to drive really nice vehicles and visit places I would have never seen before, being a driver for HitTheRoad.ca I met wonderful people along the way and truly enjoy my experience with HitTheRoad.ca David Smaller is a very nice person to deal with knowledgable with the service he provides and very helpful in providing you the best service he can provide you in making this process a great experience for all. I truly recommend his service and looking forward to drive again for him and the people wanting to hire his services from HitTheRoad.ca Keep up the good work David and wish you all the best.

2018-04-19 to 23rd. Another successful snowbird trip return to Ottawa from Fort Lauderdale. Great vehicle super nice owners and great trip overall. David was great in getting the proper paperwork to facilitate the return to Canada with the snowbird's vehicle. Adequate financial assistance for incidentals was provided.

What an opportunity! I had the pleasure of driving this beautiful Lexus from Toronto to Palm Springs and had a blast. The folks at Canada Driveaway were super easy to deal with and made everything so uncomplicated. The clients were very appreciative of how easy it was to land at the airport and have their own car waiting for them. I can’t wait for my next driving adventure with Canada Driveaway!

I had a wonderful trip that would not have otherwise been possible; I took my son to see Carlsbad Caverns. It was an absolutely incredible experience which would have been a lot more difficult had I taken my own car and driven both ways. We flew to Phoenix and picked up the vehicle and experienced a wonderful drive back. The business owner takes care of his clients' cars, therefore, make sure you stick to the rules. There is no leeway because promises are made and client's are assured that their vehicles will not go above a certain milage. After all, this company has to compete against haulers that transport vehicles without adding to the odometer. Therefore, I stuck to the rules and set my GPS to the shortest route (between points), which adds to the trip time but assures you stay within your maximum allotted milage. Trips like these are not otherwise possible without putting a lot of milage on your own car. There are a lot of places that you can go, things that you can see that you would otherwise miss taking a plane. The owner's client's speak highly of him. Do him a favour and take care of the car you drive as if it was your own. You will have a blast and feel great knowing that you helped a client get their vehicle back and supported a small business that depends on word if mouth and repeat business.

I have delivered 6 cars with Hit The Road. My first was in 2011. I delivered an Audi from Toronto to Los Angeles.

Since then I always keep an eye on what trips are available and I try to take advantage of this service whenever I have the chance.

I have done trips to Miami, Tampa, and a few trips to and from Phoenix.

If you enjoy long drives and cheap travel you will definitely enjoy working with Hit The Road.

My partner and I used Hit the Road a few summers ago to drive from Toronto to B.C. and back, and it was the perfect way to travel! We had lots of time to get from one city to the other, meaning we could stop and hike and sightsee along the way. It was a super affordable way to get across the country, and Dave was awesome to work with! He made sure that we had everything we needed for a smooth trip. We would definitely use Hit the Road again.

Long-time user of this service here. I believe I have done 15 or more drives over the past 5 years. All have been extremely pleasant experiences, completely problem-free from pick up to drop off. Vehicles have been very diverse, from high-performance luxury vehicles, to large cargo vans, to fuel-efficient compacts - David always has an interesting roster of both vehicles and destinations. The concept is very simple: if you respect both the vehicle and the guidelines you'll guarantee yourself a hassle-free trip with a generous timeline and mileage allowance, and prompt payment upon completion. David has the border crossing procedure down to a science. Thanks to hittheroad.ca, I have driven through 40+ American states, each more beautiful than the last. So why not change things up for this year's vacation and "hit the road" with one of David's cars? It's a unique way to travel on the cheap.
