Do Not, I repeat DO NOT trust this place with your Credit Card Information!
I do not want what happened to me to happen to you!!!
Thiefâs and Liars!!!!
If I could give zero stars I would!
I was booking a room for my nephew (19 years old) and daughter (16 years old) to attend a cultural ceremony in lady smith, bc. I originally was booking through Expedia and called the Holiday House Seaview Motel directly because I had a question for them. The lady I was talking to offered for me to book through them very persistently. After asking my question and her third time bringing up for me to book through her, I agreed to book with her! I mistakenly gave her my credit card details. The next day my card was charged $150. Which I figured was the DD she had informed me Iâd have to pay but it would get back on my card. Ok cool! Then comes the day my nephew checked in, my card was charged the $148.35! Alright cool, I agreed to pay for the room! Then my cycle switched over and it posts to my card another charge for $148.35 the day before my family checked in.
I called my credit card company cause I thought maybe it was an error. They told me to contact the Merchant. I called the motel and received no answer so I left a voice message. I waited the night, the next morning and then in the early afternoon I called again and was talking to the lady again. She started to tell me that my nephew and daughter requested a two queen bed upgrade from the one queen room I originally booked. Which is a lie because they called me when they got in the room and were surprised that there were two beds! And then she proceeded by telling me that they left the room in very bad condition and that they left towels in the tub with water on them. She said they were so heavy that her employee got hurt lifting them. At this point I knew she was lying.
My 20 year old son and I were listening to this lady tell these lies about our family members and looking at each other with disbelief. I asked her to send me pictures of the damage they did to the room. I asked her how many towels they left for it to injure her worker? I also asked where they were supposed to leave wet towels? Would she prefer that they left them on the floor and cause water damage? And then she started to mock my words back to me so I told my son to start recording. She hung up on us!
In such disbelief I called my nephew (voice shaking) and asked him about the garbage they left in the room. He calmly said to me that there was a can maybe two and he named maybe about four or five other snack wrappers. And then I asked him about the towels and he said that only he showered not my daughter and that he left the towels on the floor and they were not soaking wet. I told him what the lady had said to me and he said it wasnât true but he was willing to pay the extra charges to me. My nephew knows I struggle financially as a single mother of 3 on social assistance. He offered to pay me back because he did not want me to suffer. But I then got a message from my sister (his mom) telling me that it was wrong for them to charge me so much for these things and her employee getting hurt was not my responsibility and that I should report the business.
I then talked to my daughter and she told me the same thing my nephew. Only he showered and the towels were on the floor not soaking wet. And that she made sure to put all her garbage in the garbage. I have taught my daughter proper hotel etiquette. after working in the hotel industry for many years as well as many years in customer service, I really value people in the customer service workforce. I taught her they are people just like us and we shouldnât make their job harder, itâs already hard enough! So now I am here still in disbelief that this whole situation happened.
I donât normally leave public bad reviews like this but I am so upset and donât want anything like this to happen to anyone else and feel as violated as I do right now.
