I joined Intrepid for the Classic Morocco tour and had an amazing time! We were so fortunate to have a diverse group of people who all got along well despite the differences in age and background. Our tour leader Abdoul (Abderrahim) was amazing and such a great resource. He was patient, kind, and knowledgeable, while still maintaining a great sense of humor that kept us laughing and having fun throughout the trip.

Logistics were handled so seamlessly and I was continuously impressed by how things worked out (no doubt a lot of work behind the scenes, but on our end it just looked like magic).

Our driver was responsible and handled the roads well, too. We felt safe and taken care of even on the high and winding mountain roads. Worth noting, we had 4 birthdays during our trip and Abdoul made sure that each one was celebrated!

The sites we visited were absolutely beautiful, especially the Todra Gorge and the Moroccan countryside. While it's not impossible to visit these towns on your own, traveling with Intrepid made it so much easier.

The pastilla dinner in Fes, Sahara desert camp, camel riding, and garden walk in Todra Gorge were wonderful, as were so many other moments.

I detract one star for a few reasons:

1. Parts of the week felt quite rushed, most notably in Fes and Marrakech. I admire Intrepid's commitment to supporting local businesses and educating traveler's on their chosen destination; that said, you can only do so much in one afternoon, and I think it would be worth cutting 1 or 2 stops out of the Medina tour to allow travelers a chance for more spontaneous experiences in the city as well as to prevent cognitive overload.

2. As a "Comfort" level tour, I was surprised our van had such small seats and no reclining option, especially considering one of the travel days is 8+ hours. Slightly bigger seats and being able to recline just a bit would have helped so much!

Overall, an amazing tour, and I'm so glad to have chosen Intrepid to help me experience such a wonderful country.

My first Intrepid tour was incredible!!!! I did 8 days in Morocco - a country that I did not feel super confident traveling to without a guide. Well, it blew my expectations out of the water! We had the best tour guide, Abdul, who we learned so much from and who was just the sweetest, most thoughtful, and present person. It was a more meaningful cultural experience to have him there. One example - he somehow managed to get a cake to the middle of the Merzouga Desert when he found out that it was one of our group member's birthdays that day - so cool! We got to see and do so many unique things that I would have never in a million years been able to do on my own.

Another note - the trip I did was a "35 and under" tour which was SO fun (average age... probably late 20s). It reminded me of my college "study abroad" days. I would really recommend that option for the younger crowd. 🙂

After travelling Vietnam,Cambodia and a little of Thailand I just need to write how wonderful the trip was. It was so much more than I expected. Beautiful scenery, great food and especially wonderful people. The guides Sanh and Bo were exceptional, their knowledge, kindness and generosity made this trip one I cannot recommend highly enough. I have already recommended this tour to friends.

On a recent trip, Highlights of the Azores, we had a fabulously personable, kind and enthusiastic leader. Monica is a great listener and knows how to engage even shy group members in conversation and participation. Monica is creative and remains positive even with inclement weather and flight delays. She is open to varied experiences and shares her wealth of knowledge humbly. She demonstrates respect of local culture and the individuals that made up our group. I highly recommend Intrepid trips and you’ll be fortunate if you have Monica as your trip leader.
The trip itself~ a good overview of the Açores. Designed to be brief, 2 days on San Miguel fully packed w/tea plantation visits, a trip up to Sete Cidades (IG photo/cloudy day), a trip to Lake Furnas, swim in thermal pools, authentic cozido meal, and free time to explore San Miguel proper.
2 full days on Faial island~ a ferry ride to Pico island, a fabulous wine tasting/winery tour, strolling around Horta, a trip/tour of Capilinhos volcano center.
An action filled trip with wonderful core memories.

My 16 year old son and I just returned from a trip that I thought was only possible in my dreams. We visited Morocco and did a tour with Intrepid. There was no way we could have experienced the true culture, food, people, and places, of this amazing country on our own. Our tour guide, Mohamed, was so knowledgeable and made our trip more enjoyable than I could ever have imagined. From beautiful riads, medinas, markets, and unique experiences, to the Sahara Desert and the many amazing different landscapes! This tour is what dreams are made of. I am so grateful that Intrepid knows how to make dreams come true! But if you go on the tour to Morocco you just have to request Mohamed! 6⭐️'s plus!!

We did the Inca Trail Express from Lima tour and loved it! The trip was very well organized from booking to end of trip. Customer service representatives were excellent, fast with responses, helpful, and well informed. Our Tour Leaders in each city (Lima and Cusco) were the absolute best.

Specifically, Ali was a great communicator, kind, helpful, and well organized. Jose Luis Castro was one of the best guides I've ever had with any travel experience. He was not only remarkably knowledgeable in all things related to our tour, local foods, local wildlife/environment, but he was a great communicator, well-organized, and on top of organizing every event. He offered great options, choices for local recommendations. You could tell he took pride in his work and felt responsible for our group, taking comprehensive care of all members of our group. He made the tour so much fun, enjoyable, and reduced any concerns and we are so grateful to have had him for our guide. He went above and beyond to oversee care for a small injury of mine while on the trail, and took care of many others through altitude challenges, and overheating. He was not only attentive, caring, knowledgeable, well invested in the health, well-being, and enjoyment of our group, but also came to become a friend. Any opportunity to book with Intrepid we would request Jose. Ronald was also notably incredible in knowledge, skill, kindness, and well organized in his planning and care of our group.

The porters, Chef, and rest of our team was incredible! The food was delicious and we as a group truly respect and honor the hard work all members of our team put into planning, coordinating, executing, and getting us through our trek safely and happily.

My son and I just finished an Italy experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Not only were the sites and views incredible, but the Intrepid experience was great. Our tour leader Anna was exceptional - and the adventures were awesome.

My first trip with Intrepid was incredible! Visiting Egypt has always been my #1 bucket list item, so this was a big trip for me. There were a lot of expectations rolled into the experience, but I'm happy to say that I wouldn't have changed a thing. As a solo traveler, I went on a 12-day trip through Egypt with a group of 12 and we hit all the major stops. The group was a great size - small enough to get to know everyone but large enough to always have someone to do something with. Our guide Ahmed K was the absolute best and our trip wouldn't have been the same without him. Not only was he super knowledgeable about all of the places on the itinerary but he was great at providing the social, cultural, religious, and historical background of everything. He was always ready to meet us with quick whit, humor, knowledge, and wise words and when he wasn't with us, it really felt like we were missing the heart of our group. I'm already planning on another trip with Intrepid next year - this may be how I travel from here on out.
