Exterior of the hotel was updated. The room was clean, lots of towels, there was only enough coffee for one person and the fridge was older but worked well. Bathroom and shower were very clean and the shower had lots of pressure and was very hot. I went to get ice in the lobby and there were no ice buckets there and none in the room so I had to just put the ice right in my cup from the machine in the lobby. The AC unit worked well although a bit loud. The bed was firm but comfortable and there were three pillows. As I was by myself everything was good, got in late and the hostess was right there available to help as soon as I got there. The room had a traditional deadbolt lock and nothing on the handle so if you didn’t lock the room with the key when you left anyone could just go in the room.
Overall it was a come great experience and I would stay there again.

stayed overnight in powell river and chose this mostly because of the price and not many other options. it looks like the outside has been recently upgraded and the bathroom looked pretty new also, super quick and easy check in and a friendly staff. room was pretty big, had a couch and mini fridge plus the queen size bed. location is good, across the street from a couple restaurants and townsite brewing and a few minute drive to another good restaurant. overall a nice quiet and pretty cheap place to stay, the only negatives were the room is kinda dark with no ceiling light just a lamp and also it only had a couple small pillows

Very friendly staff and always willing to help when around and offer what supplies is available to them. Looks good from the exterior but really needs work. DON'T BELIEVE THE OLD PICTURES!!!! Looks NOTHING like that!!! Dead grass, no bbq or tables to sit at on the grass area. Plumbing issues, dirty floors, they really cheaped out with room supplies( toilet paper ect...), bug issues, badly stained sheets, no phone in the room, bbq and tables shown in pictures on the grass are all gone.Very old tv and cable box, don't expect to watch good tv if its a crappy day, barely any channels.Overbooked rooms, we had no problem but others had to scramble to find another place to stay. Unfortunately, we won't be back. Can't hold these issues against the staff ( they do need training on how to really clean a room top to bottom), its obvious the owner is super cheap and holding back. I wish the staff the best as the owners are the issue here!!

Such amazing staff, they were so kind and accommodating for my dogs and I. The room was clean and it had a very safe feeling, as a single female staying alone with my dog that’s a big deal! Thank you to the staff for the lovely stay.

Lots of issues when I stayed here for two nights:
* The room smelled of curry. I had to air it out.
* The AC was dusty and had to run for a bit
* The bed creaked and the bed board was loose. Uncomfortable mattress.
* The bed sheets had stains on them.
* The furniture and TV were old.
* The kitchenette water taps worked backwards.
* There was a power issue with the microwave. That is why everything was unplugged when I got here. Ridiculous arrangement of cords.
* Small bathroom
* The fridge had cracks in it.
* Minimal insulation in walls and roof
On the plus side, the shower (including water pressure and hot water) and toilet were good. For $180 per night, I expect much better however.

Extremely dangerous landing on the stairs. Major hole about 1 foot by 1 foot. No warning and is definitely not up to safety code. The stairs should have been cordoned off with a warning. It is a nasty accident waiting to happen. This neglect for guest safety is deeply concerning. This leaves me wondering what else, safety wise, is being neglected by the ownership.

Wouldn’t recommend, A/C hardly works and doesn’t go lower than 18°c, ended up waking up multiple times because it started blowing hot air into the room. The hot water in the shower is annoyingly inconsistent and constantly has to be adjusted so it doesn’t get too hot or cold. There no lights connected to any switched aside from the bathroom light, the rest are all turned on and off by hand. Oh and the receptionist “Couldn’t find” the reservation which was 100% made before we got here and had to make a whole new reservation for me in person.
