Amazing place we stopped on the way back from the cottage! Large portions, great service, reasonable prices. As a vegan I had the Greek salad with no feta and fries and it was delicious. Everyone else said their food was wonderful too.

We tried this restaurant in Lakefield based on a recommendation from some family friends while we were staying in the area last week. I ordered the special of the day the Dill Stack fried chicken sandwich it was delicious! I haven’t had anything quite like it before. (Picture from jacks instagram I ate it to fast to take my own ) My husband had the 2 piece halibut and enjoyed it just as much. We’re really glad we decided to stop in for dinner. It was a pleasant experience at Jack's, and we’ll definitely be coming back anytime we're in the area.

All day breakfast was great. Rye bread really thick. Good coffee. Lovely waitstaff (one has a beautiful singing voice, meal and a show included, no extra charge).

Had a really good meal here. The service was really friendly and really good! I had ribs with a Greek salad, ribs were fall apart tender and had good flavour with the bbq sauce. They are not true bbq ribs but they were good and did not disappoint. The Greek salad was really good. The sides of beans and coleslaw were also very good. We would not hesitate to go here again.

Been coming hear for years, but recent visits have been more miss then hits , last all day breakfast served with potatoes under pre cooked then left too long on a griddle without turning to heat up leaving them black burnt on one edge and hard on the inside ,,,,so will not be back

Said I wouldn’t go back some time ago when I was served under cooked watery fish , kicking my self now that I gave them a second chance

All the waitresses are very polite, and professional, but can’t make up for the food unfortunately i was served this last visit …..

I ordered on line which gave them a half hour from the time they quoted it would be ready. We arrived and at 30 minute later mark I went into the place to find out where my husband was. Apparently the meals weren’t ready even though they contacted my cell and said it was ready for pick up. I spoke to a young waitress and told her that if it’s been sitting for three quarters of an hour by this time I don’t want it. She assured me that it was just being completed. Out comes my husband and we go across the road to eat it ( we were over the line of starvation). Out I pull the onion rings which are white. They were warmish and definitely not cooked through. Next was the toasted western sandwich. My sandwich had no peppers or ham at all. Just egg and a bit of onion. The egg was reheated to rubbery. The bread was soggy as in the whole thing had been sitting in the foil wrapper stewing. My husband had the same with the inclusion of a salad. The salad was the only part of the dinner you could call fit to eat. Normally this place has great food and I’ve reviewed it saying that but sending us out the door with meals that were 100% sitting there for 3/4 of an hour was horrible service. It was a waste of 45.00. My husband says that others that were seated were complaining how slow the service was. One guy said it was 30 minutes waiting on his bill so he could leave. I mean how hard is it to hand someone their bill? Personally I think they do it to keep the seat unavailable to those waiting to be seated. So what did we learn? That the place is unreliable and it’s hit and miss to the service and food lol. So best of luck. If you order on line and do take out , check your order before you head out the door and take it home.

We have been a fan of Jack's Lakefield for a long time. Good food for a reasonable price. Tonight was different. I placed an order for takeout: a Rueben sandwich with no sides and a classic poutine. The order was ready when I walked in, 10 minutes later. Yay! Nope.

The sandwich: the corned beef and few strands of sauerkraut were in the middle of the bread but did not come close to the edges/crust. The saurkraut was so skimpy I couldn't taste it. I had to open the sandwich to see if it was actually there. Barely there!

The poutine: hard NO!!!! The fries were fine, the amount of gravy was fine, not drowned or skimpy. Cheese curds? Nope, not there. Instead, it was diced mozzarella. Doesn't come close to curds, nor, does it compare. I checked the online menu after I got home. Clearly said cheese curds. The substitution should not be made without informing the customer.

I live here, I like to support local businesses. But, the businesses have to be worthy of the support. I know there are lot of great reviews, this one will probably get lost in the crowd. I tend to read the negative reviews when I check out a place. Sometimes they belong to people who expect too much. I don't think that is my case…..cheese curds means cheese curds.

A very nice location for a great meal of Fish & Chips. Friendly service and proper process for in-doors dining amidst COVID. Guests were distanced to tables which are well apart. They also have plexi-glass dividers setup between tables. There is also an option of sitting in the patio.

We ordered the Captain's special - portion size was definitely good for two people. We really loved the Chowder! Simply a delightful bowl to enjoy on a chilly day! The Calamari was also a nice start to the meal. Overall enjoyed our meal there! Definitely recommend if you are in the area!
