It was one of the most monumental experiences of my life. Those ancient fish are so strong and majestic. Just to have one on the line and feel her power lets you realize how little we understand the art of God’s creation.

Rob and Kasai are great hosts. They were very welcoming and we had a nice fire and visit with them but they also respected one’s privacy.

Rob is very experienced and he is the best guide we have ever fished with. We landed 3 huge sturgeon’s and fought a few more where the fish had the upper hand. It surpassed my expectations by far!

BEST CHARTER WE HAVE EVER BEEN ON!

We stayed one night and did a full day charter. From the moment we arrived Robert and his family were inviting, friendly and helpful. The accomodation was clean, tidy and comfortable.

The boat was well equipped, also clean and comfortable. Roberts knowledge of the area and the fish was amazing. Not only did we catch good sturgeon but we had fun doing it. The fish were also well looked after and respected.

Could not recommend a better charter or accomodation! Would love to come again.

Wir waren im Juli 2025 für einige Tage zu Gast in der Kilby Lodge bei Kasia und Robert und hatten die Sturgeon Suite mit ausreichend Platz für uns fünf (Eltern und 3 Kinder). Der Blick von der Terrasse in Richtung Natur und Wasser ist toll, das Ambiente mit den langen Güterzügen passt super. Den sehr gut ausgestatteten BBQ-Platz haben wir an zwei Abenden genutzt.

An zwei Tagen waren wir mit Robert und seinem Spezialboot angeln. Auch meine 10jährige Tochter, die nur selten mit uns angelt, fühlte sich wohl und wurde von Robert sehr gut eingebunden.

Robert weiß sehr genau, was er tut. Ein Profi durch und durch. So hatten wir gleich am ersten Tag zwei weiße Störe, davon ein Ausnahmefisch von 2,96m. Nach dem Drill wurde noch kurz ein Foto gemacht und dann der Stör schonend in die Freiheit entlassen. Robert achtet sehr auf einen respektvollen Umgang.

Am zweiten Tag hatten wir auch wieder Erfolg und konnten uns über einen weiteren beeindruckenden Stör freuen.

Die Natur drum herum ist toll und es gibt immer etwas zu sehen: Weißkopfseeadler, Wasser- und Buschflugzeuge, Gänse oder lange Güterzüge auf der Bahnstrecke nebenan. Der Rekord waren 325 Waggons! Robert ist unterhaltsam und immer für einen Spass zu haben.

Weil er auch ein Lachs-Profi ist und die richtigen Stellen kennt, werde ich ihn bestimmt wieder besuchen.

We didn’t stay at the lodge we went on the Sturgeon fishing by charter for the day. It was a great experience and between the two of us we were lucky to land 5 monsters. The boat is really nice and they have great gear.

Fishing was tough and we only landed one fish on the day, but Robert was great. He was really accommodating to our situation and made a trip back to shore to pick up late arrivals. My son is already asking when we can come back to get revenge on the sturgeons that we left behind.

I recently went on a sturgeon fishing trip with Kilby Lodge and it was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Robert and the team were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about providing the best experience possible. You could tell they were genuinely invested in making sure every guest had an unforgettable time on and off the water.

The amenities were pristine, adding to the overall luxury of the experience. Everything we needed was taken care of, from high-quality gear to clean and comfortable suites. There was nothing we had to worry about except enjoying the trip.

First let’s talk about the location Kilby lodge is in a very scenic community, surrounded by stunning views of the mountains and countryside. The accommodations are very comfortable and complete with all amenities. Robert and his family made us feel very welcome to there lodge and home. The fishing was awesome we landed 3 nice 7-8 foot sturgeons on day one. Robert works very hard on the river to catch you a big fish, his equipment and knowledge of the river is spot on. He handles the sturgeon with great care and makes sure everyone is released safely back into the river. If you are thinking about a trip Kilby lodge should be on top of your list. We will definitely be back again
