Really disappointing visitor centre. Kitimat should do better with tourism as the area is beautiful. The gift shop should showcase local artists and capitalize on having a large selection of Kitimat/outdoor themed swag. No patches, one design of a pin, and very small selection of cheap stickers. While the clothing design is neat, the selection is very limited.

No fault of the employees working there but one would assume a decent gift shop at a visitor info centre.

We visited the Kitimat Visitor Centre August 4, 2022. I am semi retired and have done a lot of travelling. This visit was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any tourist information Centre in the world. The lady was horrible and did not give out any information on what to see and do. She basically showed us the map and told us to have a look and decide what we wanted to see. There was no cultural events or cultural activities to see. No artisan's exhibits to see.
The Chamber of Commerce of Kitimat should be ashamed of the total lack of community knowledge being presented here.
I would not even give this Visitor Centre a 1 Star. But I had to give it 1 Star in order to post my comments.
