The people are incredibly kind and nice here. The room was very clean and well taken care of, and they take the effort to make it comfortable for you.

The lack of wifi was the biggest drawback and why I award it 2 stars. I see several other reviews espousing the same sentiment - great staff, nice rooms, but lack of internet. If this hotel wants to stay in business it needs to recognize that a lot of guests are here for work. I should not have to pay $117/night and then scurry over to Tim Hortons, so that I can submit my daily company related forms, and communicate with team members in other provinces. This has to become a major priority or I fear this hotel will continue to get downvoted into losing business

Clean rooms, comfy bed, nice staff. However, the hotel internet is abysmal. I speedtested it at 1.5mbps down and 0.2mbps up, so if you need the internet for anything more than basic web browsing and connectivity, you're out of luck.

This is a review for 2025 April. There is barley a breakfast, this morning no eggs , hashbrown , sausage and when There is it's all done in the microwave . No muffins today and there is never fruit , nope not ever . Some times old bread and bagels and maybe a lemon yogurt in fridge. Gonna talk to front desk today or gonna move hotels

First of all, I realize it was an 80 dollar a night motel. Secondly that doesn’t mean I expect it to not be clean or in working order.
Beds were comfortable, and pillows were good- that’s the positive. The guy working front counter at check in was nice and friendly. But the room was so dirty- and our tub didn’t work at all. Just a shower that had one temperature, bonus it did have great pressure.
Rooms also not sound proff at all. Heard every sound from both neighbours

We came home a day early bc of the icky ness

You get what you pay for on every aspect with this hotel. Close to powder king so if you just sleeping and leaving it works. But don’t expect anything extra

Since the last time I stayed here in 2019 it is very noticeable that it's not as nice as it once was.

It is not a terrible place to stay.

It is still better compared to the Majority of the other hotels in this town .

Tiles cracked grout missing the hot water takes several minutes to get hot. The water has a very horrible moldy rotten smell. There has been a new boiler sitting out front for at least a month no idea when this will be installed.

The hydraulic door closer is broken on the fire escape door so it slams shut all the time waking people up as early as 4:30 am.
There are gaps under the fire exit door that has no seal around it and creepy crawlers are constantly coming in and into the rooms.
The chair in the breakfast room need a good cleaning . The dining tables used to be kept clean.
There are other noticeable issues.

I do hope that Lakeview will address this and bring it back to what it was a couple of years ago. Then I can change my review

However the front counter staff are still as awesome as ever polite and do help anyway they can. Staff keep up the good work.

In general, it's a good place to stay. The lobby, corridors, and my room were old and looked dark and a bit dirty, but the bathroom was newly renovated and looked clean. All in all, it's a really good place to stay. They also offer complimentary warm breakfasts, including sausage, eggs, bacon, cheese, butter, jam, etc.

It's right beside the railway, so expect hearing train horn and it train time to time. I used white to sleep well.

The elevator is out of order, so if you're unable to take the stairs, it's best to avoid this place. The rooms are clean, but the lady who maintains them is the only reason this place gets 3 stars. I was thinking more towards 1 star. Someone on our floor was smoking weed in their room, which caused the entire floor to stink. The breakfast is prison food at best that gets a one star just for being available if you wanted it 😂

I was pretty happy with my stay here. There's a kitchenette with everything you could need (including pans, utensils and even reusable shopping bags), and it was cleaned every day.

The free breakfast had a lot of variety and was better than other hotels I've seen. Staff was pleasant.

Wi-Fi was a bit slow for downloads but fast enough for everything else including streaming.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Only drawback is the building and room styles are a bit dated but it wasn't a big deal.
