My experience here was horrible. At first, it looks pretty decent upon walking in. Service was pretty good and accommodating. I go up to my room (which smelled badly of smoke even though it’s a non-smoking room) unload my stuff, then went to use the washroom. I lifted the toilet seat up and it was covered in, what I’m assuming was poop spatters all over the seat and lid. I called the front desk and asked if housekeeping or someone could come up and clean it. The front desk lady advised me she was the only one there and they did not have any housekeeping. She proceeded to ask me “well is it DIRTY dirty..” After I said it’s dirty enough that I don’t want to sit on it, she said she would come up and clean it; she did a few minutes later with some Lysol wipes. I wish I would’ve taken a photo but it was honestly really gross. Later on I was about to get into bed and found stains all over the sheets (photo provided of one of the spots). The other bed seemed fine so I just switched but wow.. I’m usually very easy going and let most things go, but I would never stay here again and I’ll advise my coworkers to stay away from it too.

Stayed here for 1 night end of August 2024-for the service I received I wouldn’t call the current 3.9 rate accurate. I thought it would be higher-4.3-4.4 or so. No reason to not give 5 stars for my stay. Very Comfy couch in room-seperate bedroom would be nice if with kids. I wish it had a hot tub and/or pool but that’s not gonna take away a star. Continental Breakfast was pretty good except fruit selection. It’s true the parking lot pavement could use repairs. Would consider staying here again if in Slave Lake.

Avoid this hotel if you look for respectful, kind service, good breakfast and a room key that works. The front desk staff are extremely ignorant. I refuse to even give 1 star for that reason. The room key never worked and the breakfast was the worst. The hard boiled eggs were rubber 🤢 and they served that more days than not. They advertise they have a hot tub, however they say it’s been shut down since the Covid scam and it will cost too much money to fix. They still charge the same amount per night, without the amenities. Stay somewhere else if possible.

No room to park. Internet cuts out all the time if you have it. Breakfast is gross in a breakfast closet that, in reality can sit 10 without having to kiss each other. One of the worst hotels in area.

The rooms are clean.

Breakfast is the normal hotel “fastfood” - sausage, waffle and Scrambled eggs.

Our no smoking rooms are located on the second floor, however we can smell “smoke” from the other room.

Also when the guest walks on the third floor just above ours, we can hear and feel the movement.

Fairly good experience in all aspects. Location was convenient, though no great views.

Rooms were functional, clean and had refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Everything worked and were maintained well. No issues with bath, quite a few towels and napkins. Water was hot.

Breakfast area was bit small and was always overflowing with guests. Breakfast was quite standard fair but had bit of everything.

No issues on the staffing front, check in and check out process was smooth.

When we arrived, I asked the woman at reception if there was a washroom on the main floor. It was a long way from Edmonton and I had a coffee on the way. She told me no and that I could go to the restaurant across the street. Odd! I decided to wait until I checked into my room to use the washroom. After using the washroom in our non-smoking room, I realized it smelled heavily like cigarette smoke. I called down to reception to let them know and they said that they could put us in another room, so we went back downstairs. When we got back downstairs, the lady said "Did you touch anything or use the washroom?" I said "Yes, I used the washroom. I told you I needed to use the washroom". The woman made it very clear that she was annoyed, put out and inconvenienced as she huffed and puffed. Every time we ran in to her during our stay, we could tell she was not impressed with us. I don't think it's out of line to expect a non smoking room and changing rooms was an inconvenience to us as well. They need to get that room professionally cleaned. It reeked! Also, if you have a vehicle that is low to the ground, avoid their parking lot. It's in dire need of repair! It's more than pot holes, more like sink holes. Stay at the Holiday Inn next door instead.

Extremely expensive for mediocre rooms, wouldn't stay here again unless I had to. Very limited parking and terrible service from the front desk.
