Great place to walk all year, but roads are not maintained in the winter. A great place to picnic or swim(requires shoes) in the summer...or even camp in the campground... The Central Bathrooms are very nice in the campground... Close enough to the city to be easy to get there, but far enough, it doesn't seem like your anywhere but far away in the country... Amenities are within 10-15 mins (bakery, pizza shop, grocery and liquor store, as well as fast food places if you wish).

There are no personnel at the reception. Kind of self service, which is good, but on the opposite side - no one checks the park rules.
People on this campground did not respect quiet hours at all. I could not sleep because of laughter and loud talks near the bathroom building. At 1 am someone started using an axe to cut the firewood. This all lasted to 2:30 3 am until it became silent.
The park inventory is pretty old. Our picnic table was seeing its last year of service for sure, since it wanted to fall apart when we were sitting on its benches 🙂 ( I am 60kg, not sure if it could handle 100kg people)
Overall the nature was beautiful, tall pine trees, lake, cozy atmosphere makes this park worth visiting, but I personally am not sure I will want to repeat this again soon. At least I would look for the place far away from the bathrooms.
P.S. if booking, avoid place 20 and others next to it.

We decided to check out Laurie Provincial Park as we had never been there before. Unfortunatley it was closed for the rest of the year so we couldn't drive in. Wr parked before the bridge in a small parking lot and walked it.

It would be an ideal spot to camp in the summer. It has beautiful views over the lake with nice treea and even a proper fire pit with each camp ground from what I could see.

The real area of opportunity for this campground is signage or lack there of. There is zero signage with roads interwining it is very difficult to navigate as it is not a straight forward road layout. This is my main reason for rating this park 4 stars.

A beautiful park on the shore of Grand Lake. Very clean park with lovely sites. Sites are not super private but not too bad. Washrooms could have used more attention from staff. Also did not see a park truck until Sunday morning. Not sure if staff were actually around on the weekend. Overall a great stay. We will be back.

Enjoy walking along the Grand Lake, seeing different camper's set up. There are so many little beaches along the lake. People can enjoy their own privacy in their little beach. A program area with benches which is good for group function. I think that can fit at least 40 people.

What a lovely spot. Feels like a well hidden place only I know about. It's not as crowded as places like point pleasant gets. Barely saw anyone. A really good place for contemplation. Very quiet except when the train passes buy. Has lots of campsites too. Very beautiful in the fall. One of my favorite places in HRM.

This park is lovely year round! We took our dog here for a beautiful winter walk (plus 6 in January). The best part about it is that because most of the roads are paved and the walking trails are crushed dust gravel with a small layer of pine needles on everything, my dog did not get full of mud! That is a huge plus this time of year. There were a fair number of families and people walking dogs. All people and dogs were friendly however the park is large enough that you didnt see many people. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Year round!

Very nice updated provincial park. Road is paved but narrow. The sites are the smallest I've seen in a provincial park.
We had site 7 which has a tree at the edge of the door side of an RV. This would block most Rv's from opening their awning.
My trailer is 17' and my car blocked the road while hooking/un-hooking.
Be sure to circle the campground to find a tap you can hook a hose to in order to fill water tank.(I saw two with hose compatible fittings).
Most taps have a smooth outlet that you can't connect to.
Not the best park for big rigs but there were a few sites large enough.
Cramped quarters aside, we had a great time in a well kept, clean park.
