Lunenburg Ocean Adventures - Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

This was the highlight of our Nova Scotian trip with my mother-in-law from Germany. Bill and Emily were great guides and made the whole experience fun and easy. It was my first time fishing ever and I had a blast. We caught a bunch of mackerel and my mother-in-law even caught a cod. The boat caught a bunch of pollock and cod and we were all able to take the mackerel home. Emily provided A+ service and cleaned and filleted the fish for us. We brought a small cooler to keep the fish in. My husband and I aren't into touristy shit. This was an experience I'd want even if I was a local (and there were a bunch of locals onboard).

Best part was grilling our catch in the evening at our airbnb.

You also get a great view of Lunenburg and get to enjoy the day out on the water.

We were also lucky enough to spot an eagle and a bunch of porpoises in the distance.

Bring some food and bevvies. There's a washroom on the boat. Wear extra layers.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. (Note: we were lucky to have perfect weather that day).

What a fabulous day out on the water. Captain Bill and First Mate Emily where amazing. Their knowledge of the area, the sea and the interesting information they provided made for a super enjoyable day. Emily did a great job of attending to all of us fishing and keeping our poles in the water. This is one of the best, if not the best fishing experience we have ever had. If you want to go deep sea fishing Lunenburg Ocean Adventures is a great crew to go out with. We caught lots of fish and had a memorable time.

An amazing experience, I would 100% recommend. We sailed past The Ovens and then stopped at two different fishing spots where lotsss of fish were caught (cod, pollock & mackerel). We even saw dolphins on the sail out 🤭❤️ The captain and the deckhand were awesome. They even filleted the fish that were caught for you to take home.

My friend and I booked a morning spot as part of the group fishing tour. We stopped at about 4-5 places and caught Mackerel, Herring, Pollock and Cod. It was a full boat and everyone aboard caught fish. The captain and his assistant were very knowledgeable and friendly. We came home with lots of fish to eat, which were filleted onboard for us for no extra charge (although tips were appreciated.) Highly recommended and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. My arms were tired by the end of the trip from reeling in so many fish!

We caught cod, mackerel (lots and lots of small ones) and pollock. Good fun, and we also saw some harbour porpoises on the return trip. Expect an hour out, 2 hours fishing, and an hour back. The captain seems pretty bored with the whole thing, and there are a few too many rods - we repeatedly tangled lines with those next to us, and those on the other side of the boat.

**Bill and his daughter Emily** are not only incredibly **knowledgeable**, but also just genuinely great people to be around. Their passion for the sea is infectious, and they make everyone—from total beginners to seasoned fishers—feel welcome and involved.

You can tell they truly care about what they do. Whether it’s pointing out interesting marine life, sharing stories about the area, or giving helpful tips with the gear, they go above and beyond to make the experience memorable.

We've brought friends and family over the years, and it’s always one of the highlights of our summer. If you're in or around Lunenburg and want an authentic, fun, and educational day on the water, **this is it. It’s highly recommended!

We had a great time on our fishing adventure. The service was first rate and the boat is large and comfortable. Emily was our mate. She and the captain (her dad) are long time locals and had some great stories about the area.
