I registered my Dad for an Intro to Whitewater Canoeing course at MKC, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, everything was smooth and well organized. The check-in process was a breeze, and the staff were so welcoming. My Dad had an amazing time with a fun, professional, and extremely knowledgeable instructor who made learning both easy and enjoyable. The camping facilities were excellent, and the food at the centre-wow! Absolutely sublime. It was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, highly recommend!

It's about a 14 hour drive for me, but I've been to MKC for four week-long courses over many years, and what's not to love? Superb instructors (lookin at you, Fraser!), beautiful river, fantastic food! They take good care of you....as true in 2004 ( when I first went) as in 2024.

Took a whitewater kayak private course, and it was amazing. Booking was great, talked to Greg numerous times, and it was excellent. There were no issues, he went over all the options available and went into great depth about what to expect. I did tent camping and it was a great, beautiful site, the facilities are great, running water, hot coffee and food. Can you go wrong?
My course was great, we hit the basics hard in the morning, and by the afternoon I was running rapids. Had a fantastic day on the water. My instructor was beyond amazing. I came in with some previous kayak and canoe experience, so he worked so well at teaching better skills and building confidence.
If your reading reviews and thinking about taking a course, just do it. You won't regret it.

MKC is phenomenal! I worked in the adventure tourism industry off and on for a few years. This my first foray back, this time as a parent. (Twins age 12 plus an 8 y.o.) Some adventures feel like products, but MKC has that “je na sais quoi” to it that makes it feel like more. Both the facilities and the staff were top-notch. We will be returning.

Seniors week is a phenomenal 5 day experience. I had sea kayaked before and tried white water solo canoe for the first time. The intention was to do adventurous river trips in my native Northern Ontario. Quickly realized that solo canoes are very tricky and instructors problem solved flexibly to get me on a tandem canoe. Lots of fun in very dynamic water. My canoe mechanics have increased immensely; almost as much as my skill in white water swimming. Even with 5 dunks in white water, the situational awareness and superb training of the instructors meant that I truly was never worried even as I was bobbing downstream in swirling currents.
Made friendships of a quality that would be hard to establish in any other venue. Food is top class. We had music night with full throated audience renditions of AC/DC thunderstruck and Beatles tunes. Really cannot overemphasize the quality of the instructors who were all top class in terms of skill , problem solving, teaching all the while with equanimity and a pervasive love of whitewater. Goofy humour abounded.

Superb experience!! First time WW kayaking and went literally from zero to hero. Thanks to Chris, who's such an amazing instructor, I ran the entire river on my second day without flipping once. The place has a great vibe, very well maintained and eco friendly, delicious food too. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to learn or advance their kayaking/canoeing skills.

MKC is the most kind and beautiful place to canoe. I drove up from Virginia and immediately felt a warm welcome upon arriving. The staff and students alike were all inspiring, "good people" that I loved being around and sharing meals with.
The instruction was A+ and helped my skills improve tremendously, more than any other workshop I have ever participated in.
The water levels were ideal every day (5 days!), and the rustic meets craftsmanship design of the lodge, sauna, sinks, deck, camping sites, etc. were in harmony with my hopes of the experience: in that, they were built with the intension to create an integrated experience. Finally, the meals are healthy and perfect. 10/10
