My favorite indoor pool in the lower mainland offers a fantastic experience. Here are the highlights:

1. The water and facilities are modern and clean, especially considering how busy the pool areas can get.
2. There is a 25-cent fee for locker use.
3. The entry fee is $6.
4. Amenities include a steam room, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, lazy river in the kids' section, lap pools, and a tube slide.
5. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
6. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty.
7. The pool area is well-maintained, and guests are generally respectful.
8. There are gender-neutral changing areas, some of which have showers, toilets, and small seating areas that can accommodate families of 2 to 4 people.
9. The best time to go for adult swim is on weekdays, between 7 AM and 3 PM. Weekends tend to be busy.

Overall, it's a wonderful place to swim!

“Maple Ridge Leisure Centre is a fantastic spot for fitness and fun! The facility is clean, modern, and well-maintained, with something for everyone. The swimming pool is incredible, with options for lane swimming, and a fun water slide. There are plenty of classes for all ages and fitness levels, and the gym is well-equipped with high-quality machines and free weights.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. I especially appreciate how accessible the center is, with amenities designed to accommodate everyone. A big bonus is the affordable rates, which make it easy to keep coming back. Highly recommended for anyone in Maple Ridge looking to stay active or enjoy a day with family!”

Moved into the dt area of Maple Ridge August 2024. I decided to start a swimming routine so joined the Community Centre. Best decision I made this year. Staff is so friendly and so helpful. The Change rooms are constantly being cleaned and monitored. Highly recommend especially seniors to check this place out

We have been trying for years to get our kids in to swimming lessons here but it’s always been a gong show. We finally got our daughter set of swimming lessons… her class finishes this Wednesday(Dec 18) and the instructor had let us know the registration for the next program was the day before on (Dec 17)… why are they releasing the new classes before graduating the kids from the previous programs so they can grab a spot in the next session? When trying to sign up my daughter for her next class today we were told she needed to wait until tomorrow for her report card ( all the spots will be gone by then)(The teacher already told us she was going to pass)
We can’t be the only parent who feels very frustrated with this!!!!!

The signs they use to let you know when the pool closes. Is the same format as every other sign. Not only that they don't post pool closures in the under ground parking. When I asked the staff why they don't tell people who come in that the pool is closed. They said that there are signs everywhere. After that I said they should let people know that the pool is closed. Not everyone reads the signs especially if they cannot read. the staff should let everyone know that enters the center that the pool is closed that day. The staff were very rude and not helpful.

Pools are clean and well maintained, but that’s basically the extent of the pros. Schedules posted online are erratic and not always easy to interpret, and closures to the public are frequent. Changing room layouts are weird - narrow halls split by lockers that are open to the pool area, with about a dozen individual change rooms that are always full. If you have a kid who needs a change table, you are constantly stuck waiting for one of three rooms with one inside. Also one of the receptionists who is there during the week is laughably miserable and unfriendly.

We swim here because it is close to home, but there are better facilities in the lower mainland.

The new schedule is quite confusing. For example, on Saturdays, there's competitive swimming from 7am to 8am, but then there's a gap until 12pm. Also, what exactly is "fun swim" at 12pm? When I asked about the new schedule at the front desk, the clerk responded with an eye roll, which was unprofessional.

Additionally, with the upcoming 1-month closure for deep cleaning, are employees being paid during that time?

For adults, getting lane swimming time is almost impossible unless you can go at 6am on weekdays or 7am on weekends, or after 7pm, which isn’t practical for most people with jobs, or you are willing to share a lane with 5 ot 6 people.

The pools are often busy with lessons, and parents tend to monopolize the seating areas. Maple Ridge is growing rapidly—it's time to consider building more pools to accommodate everyone! And by everyone I mean adults and kids.

Can be a nightmare at times.
If swimming as an adult or older, I'd recommend weekdays. only kids you'll see are babies and tod's, the occasional older ones, depending on school pro-D days and things of the such.

Please update your website if things happen, like the pool closers, and when it reopens. Because the website said the 9th, the sign outside said the 10th, and the lesson drop-in sheets said the 11th.

I do recommend the Water Wellness class, everyone is quite nice. And it's helped me with my back and shoulders, not as stiff as they tend to be.

I do though, like the simplicity of the change room, just wish there was more space in there, because of the lockers down the middles, there's only so much space to move.
For the simplicity of the change rooms, I enjoy that I dont have to see anyone naked, like change rooms at other leisure centres,
"I know your comfortable with your body, but I'm not comfortable with your body."

It's a nice change, and I'm quite comfortable with this style of change room. Here's the changeroom there's the pool. No maze of walls. No private parts of other people. Sure there's traffic for the stalls, at times.

The changeroom only needs some more space is all.
