Thanks for the owners couple! We were traveling with a big group and arrived at the hotel quite late last night and they offered us 4 rooms! They even helped us cook eggs! I actually didn't like motels at all cuz they are usually not Clean! However these rooms We stayed were pretty Clean and neat! He everything we needed and more! All of us Had a good sleep! Really appreciated their help and enthusiasm!

Rolled into Barriere late at night like a couple of road-weary raccoons looking for a place to crash—and boom, Monte Carlo Motel came through like a roadside angel in flannel.

The staff didn’t just accommodate us—they welcomed us like long-lost cousins showing up for a family BBQ. Within minutes, we had a clean, cozy room that smelled like fresh linen and second chances. Beds? Comfier than your aunt’s couch that everyone naps on after turkey dinner. No plywood nightmares here. Take note Golden BC Days In.

Now here’s where things get spicy: I politely asked about the pool, assuming I’d be told it’s closed for the night. But no—the manager LEGEND says, “Go ahead, take a dip!” So there I was, floating under the stars like a Walmart James Bond, wondering why anyone stays anywhere else.

Bonus highlight? The manager’s dog. A tiny, fluffy monarch who clearly runs the place. I’m not sure if it’s a dog or low-key Canadian royalty in disguise, but this little beast is living better than most humans. I half-expected to see it wearing a crown and sipping Evian from a crystal bowl. 10/10 would pet again.

Super affordable, super friendly, and not a single haunted TV in sight. I honestly left wondering if I should move in permanently or at least send them a Christmas card.

We stayed one night at the Monte Carlo Motel during our road trip and found it to be a pleasant stopover. The room was clean and equipped with essentials like a coffee maker, and fridge. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out smooth. While the decor is a bit dated, the motel’s proximity to local restaurants and amenities made it a convenient choice. Overall, a solid option for travelers passing through Barriere.

Typical small town old school motel. Nothing fancy. Room was clean and everything worked. Bed was comfortable. Also had a outdoor pool.

Unit was clean, beds and pillows comfortable. Amenities included coffee maker and condiments. Thoughtful that my brother & sister-in-law were placed in a room next to us. Really appreciated the air conditioner, since we had 34-35 degree temperatures. There was a family reunion staying at the motel, enjoyed children laughing. Pool was also appreciated due to the temperatures. Owner/manager was helpful and informative. Would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it.
