We were genuinely excited about the opening of the MURC, but that excitement has quickly turned into frustration. The weekly schedules are a mess—wildly inconsistent and clearly out of touch with actual community interest. It’s puzzling to see time blocks reserved for activities that consistently go unused, while men's basketball, which easily brings in 25 participants, has been reduced to a single 90-minute slot per week.

Ashley Ferguson, the person in charge of scheduling, might consider taking a break from whatever she’s doing—because it’s clearly not listening to the people using the facility—and start doing her job with at least a shred of awareness.

Wonderful facility with multiple use spaces. We have been going for swimming - changes rooms are spacious and clean. Pool is lovely and a good temperature.

Yesterday we visited this new center! MURC Was so clean, organize and huge recreation area in keswick, swimming pool was busy with happy families , library has many study rooms, different sections for kids, adult with variety of books . In this center there are many more area for fun activities and sports. We really liked this place! Come and see 😍

The facility change room facility and washrooms are very disgusting and dirty. Most change rooms stink of urine. The floors and corners are always filled with guck. The washroom look the same and worse my child never wants to use the washroom to how they always look, smell and feel. Urine and tissue all over seat and floor... is there no janitor for this building?.. the money that we pay to use the facility for programs, why is it not being cleaned ..

This facility has so much to offer—there’s a pool, gym, library, and plenty of spaces for community events, which makes it a great place for people of all ages. However, given the size of the building, it seems that the maintenance and cleaning staff are stretched too thin to keep up with everything.

It would really improve the experience for everyone if there were more team members dedicated to keeping the facility clean and well-maintained. With the number of visitors, especially during peak hours, adding more staff could make a big difference in keeping the building perfect and a little extra support would go a long way!

I have seen from my experience of being there the library staff and front desk out number the amount of building attendants who keep the building clean and safe it would be nice to see more support for that side of the building to as I stated above make the building well maintained and cleaner

Amazing library with a modern and welcoming atmosphere! The reading garden is a peaceful spot, and the Maker Space has great tech like 3D printers and a creativity lab. Perfect for all ages, whether you’re studying, working, or just relaxing with a book. A wonderful addition to the community!

Why has this brand new center failed to earn a 4-star rating and received many negative reviews, while older centers have achieved 4.5 stars or higher?

Based on my observations and others' reviews, the following issues have been identified:

Unprofessional and inadequately trained staff: Some younger employees appear to lack the necessary training and are unable to distinguish between service and management responsibilities. As taxpayers, members who pay the full membership fee are entitled to receive non-discounted, high-quality service.

Inconsistent or non-existent badminton court policies: There are no clearly defined rules for the badminton court, and young staff enforce varying policies depending on their mood.

Inadequate pool facilities: The pool shower water is either excessively hot or cold, and the pool water is frequently too cold for comfort.

Absence of a fitness room: The center does not offer a fitness room, which is an essential amenity for some members.

Delayed repairs: Some repair work appears to be taking longer than necessary to be completed.

Lack of effective communication channels: Complaints seem to be ignored, as the communication channels are often unresponsive.

Please provide constructive feedback to help improve the center for the benefit of the entire community in Georgina.

Very happy for this in keswick. The staff need work, pronto. The hostility the female lifeguards have is unbelievable, and the lack of care the staff members in the gym have for the BRAND NEW equipment is stupid. Day 1 and staff members are tossing net poles as if it’s nothing, marking up the gym floor and irritating those using the running track. There’s no management here, it certainly won’t take long before the equipment is trashed. Already, the place is filthy. The changing rooms for the pool had DIAPERS littering the benches. The running track is already covered in dirt from people using outdoor shoes here. The gym has so many marks and scratches (from staff!). We deserve better than this.. also, why are all the activities for children There’s nothing for those 18-25..
