Karen at Carlson Wagonlit, New Westminster, has been helping us plan our trips for over 10 years now. We've taken some incredible trips on her recommendations with great locations (places we didn't know should be on our bucket list), hotels/accommodations, and with knowledgeable and helpful local guides. Karen looks after us from the initial trip planning until we return. When problems have arisen (including one trip where we had a hurricane and an earthquake), Karen got us back home safely and quickly. Very highly recommended!

My wife and I have used Karen as our Travel Agent of choice to plan all our destination vacations for decades. Karen makes the recommendations, plans the trip right down to all the small details. We will always remember getting off the plane in a remote part of Turkey wondering if we would ever return home but as we entered the airport there was a smiling man holding a sign with our last name printed in bold letters. Off we then went to our Star 5 hotel.
Karen is nothing short of awesome. 5 star for this lady!!

I was booking a trip to Australia and New Zealand and contacted Carlson Wagonlit Travel in New Westminister, 635 Sixth Street. Spoke to Karen Kirby who told me she was the sole owner. Good, the buck stops here. Karen quoted me a price to not only Air Canada to Sidney Australia, Qantas to Brisbane and Brisbane to Auckland and final Air Canada back to Vancouver. The cost was well over $8000.00 which I thought was a little high so I went to a small travel agent close to me and asked them, with the same info I had from Karen to give me the cost for the exact trip. They did in a matter of minutes which was over $800.00 + cheaper. I approached Karen with not only the new quoted price but also the documentation. She didn't say anything.....not even sorry my mistake in my figures. She gave me the felling she has done this before, and deducted $800.00 from my invoice.

Ludy made my trip planning extremely easy and I cannot say enough good things about my booking process with her. I had concerns about pet travel and she put all my concerns at ease and gave me all the information I needed to feel confident about my booking. I can not begin to tell you what a wonderful time that I had on the trip to Africa. Marivic's organization was unbelievable and she didn't miss a thing - perfect accommodations, very roomy and comfortable jeeps to travel it, surprise bush dinner in the Maasai Mara reserve, visitations to two Maasai tribes, morning, afternoon and night time safaris, and I could go on and on. We saw the Big Five animals as well as every other animal that I had hoped to see. This trip exceeded my expectation of Africa and I would most definitely recommend Marivic to anyone.

I was informed by Air Canada they were cancelling most international flights in the past week. I had the mistaken belief they would book me on a different airline on the same date as scheduled. Nope. I needed to be on one of their planes before March 29th. I called Carlson Wagonlit office in New Westminster a half hour before it opened. The manager answered the phone second ring. I left the whole story with her. She told me the airlines were waiving change fees and I would need to pay the difference in Fare. We book business class usually because my Wife brings massive amounts of Japanese food and the luggage fees for 6 suitcases(yes golf clubs too) make it cheaper to fly business class than economy. I could see the difference in fare was going to be horrendous. I`m not sure how but she changed our flight to direct, winning. She said there would be no fare difference, winning. She told me I need to pay a change fee because we altered the flight from one with stop to direct, 100$ total, winning. Anyways I guess you know who my travel agent is from now on. And it will be the local office from now on. Thank you Marivic.
