I would like to kindly request assistance from the building management. The station has a terrible smell of rotting garbage. I am aware that there is a dump area underneath the station, as I have passed by it before. The conditions that all staff members must endure when disposing of waste are inhumane. The smell is extremely unpleasant, and there are visible traces of waste and fluids on the ground.

I have frequently seen rats in that area, which is where local store employees are required to dispose of their garbage. This situation is not only disrespectful to those who work there but also to everyone who uses the station regularly. It is unacceptable.

Management should consider thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting this area with a high-pressure hose at least once a week. We must acknowledge and sincerely thank the employees who do their best to keep the public areas clean and organized. However, it is time for action to be taken regarding the odor and the unsanitary conditions in the waste disposal zone. Immediate attention is necessary.

I like coming here because of Landmark Theatre & Spaghetti factory. I dont like that the parkade smells like urine and so do the elevators 😭 seriously wish the public patrons would stop using these areas as a toilet!! No pride in themselves or respect for the space. Other than that, i enjoy going to watch movies here. Easily accessible on the skytrain 👍🏻👍🏻

Part of the Vancouver SkyTrain network, New Westminster Station is on the Expo line between 22nd Street (towards Waterfront) and Columbia (towards King George or Production Way-University). It is in Fare Zone 2 and has side platforms, so doors open on the right.

The station was completed in 1985 and received an extensive remodel/rebuild in 2012 when it opened as part of the Shops at New West center. Shops at New West has restaurants, supermarket, a cinema and lots of retail spending opportunities. There is a bus stop here with connections on a dozen or so lines.

Escalators and elevators are here as the station is fully handicapped accessible. It is above ground and somewhat protected from the elements. But this is Canada, so if it's cold outside then it's cold on the platform.

The New Westminster Station is great. It is centrally located and the moment you exit there is a wide variety of stores and restaurants, as well as a movie theatre, Safeway grocery store, etc. The one small issue for me during my first few visits was that I found it a little confusing to navigate to get to the different levels. It was mostly due to the fact that the elevators are/were under construction. Nonetheless, it’s a tad confusing. Besides that, I really appreciate this station. It quickly and efficiently helps me to get where I need to be. Vancouver’s transit system is TOP notch.

La estación de new Westminster corresponde a la ciudad de new Westminster como su nombre lo dice.
No es la mejor estación que Vancouver pueda tener, pues have falta más limpieza y orden en la estación.
Su tamaño no es chica, tiene una línea de idea y tienes que cruzarte a la del sentido contrario para salir de los vagones y volver a usar la entrada de compass card. No como en otras estaciones que te puedes cambiar de sentido solo al atravesar las escaleras.
En cuanto a su contenido, tiene varios negocios y restaurantes en su complejo.
Entre los lugares de comida son: quesada (tienda de burritos mexicanos), Subway, pizzería, Safeway (lugar para hacer despensa), dollarama, dentistas, Tim Hortons, comida brasileña, comida filipina, cine, comida oriental, entre otros.
Existe un gimnasio en el cual los departamentos de arriba y de alrededor pueden acudir a este con precios accesibles.
La estación de new Westminster cuenta con varias líneas de autobuses que te pueden transportar a diferentes destinos.
Ahora hablemos de los precios y su logística. Para poder viajar en SkyTrain ocupas una compass card la cual podrás obtener en las máquinas recargadoras, sino cuentas con esta, en estas mismas máquinas puedes adquirir boleto del día, dependiendo de la zona a la que visites, gastarás aproximadamente entre 3 dólares válidamente por 90 minutos.
Para más dudas o como usar las máquinas despachadoras de boletos puedes ponerlas en dos idiomas diferentes, inglés o francés o si tienes suerte puedes preguntar al personal de SkyTrain que tienen su chaleco amarillo.
Mantente seguro siempre al viajar en tren, con cuidado, alerta y disfruta del paisaje.

Nice station, lots of shops nearby, pedestrian bridge that goes over tracks so there’s nice views of Skytrains passing by! There was some construction (When I was there in August 2024), but station was still amazing!

Busy station. There are lot of eatery places, miniso, shoppers, safeway and cibc bank in this station. The only drawback with this station is the bus terminal that is all around this station. It gets bit confusing for any person visiting first time.
