My first food tour - and I forgot to take pictures of the food, haha! It was a fantastic experience to taste delicious Canadian fare and hear the information and lore about how the food/recipes became national points of pride. You might be wondering why a Canadian would take a Canadian Food Tour. I have eaten my fair share of Tim Bits and Poutine but there is so much more to this tour than the food itself. Joanna has worked and lived in the area for many years but she is also very well traveled woman. 58 countries and counting! So you know she has tasted many delicacies and knows a good deal about finding "the local favorites". She has outdone herself in providing all the Canadian highlights! Tim Bits, Maple Syrup, Poutine, Salmon, Maple Balsamic, Beaver Tails (no Beavers were harmed in the creation of this dish). History, humour and happy taste buds are the focus of this tour. Walking is a big part of it but you'll be happy for the steps in-between because you will not need to eat anything for a few hours after this adventure. You will wrap up your tour full of good nibbles, full of new knowledge about Banff and a full understanding of what a well thought out food tour can be!
I recommend this tour to international and Canadian visitors alike. It's well priced considering the amount of food and drinks provided. You'll meet many locals as well, since Joanna seems to know someone on every street and they are always stopping to say hello đŸ€—

My partner and I had such a great time on the A Canadian Bite of Banff tour with Nibble Tours! We joined in the afternoon and every stop was a gem, from tasty bites and drinks to charming local shops we probably would’ve missed on our own. The food and treats were all delicious, and there was the perfect mix of savoury, sweet, and really enjoyed the variety!

Joanna was such a lovely guide — super friendly, kind, and really knowledgeable. You can tell she cares deeply about the area and has a real passion for sharing it with others. We learned a lot about Canadian food and culture!

Highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a unique way to experience Banff beyond just the scenery. Thank you Joanna! 🙂

This was a fun walking food tour in the town of Banff. It was the evening of Sips and Sweets. We sampled local beer, maple fudge, Banff's signature cocktail, the Caesar, a new twist on Poutine for dessert, Timbits, local tea, and Beavertails. I learned a lot about the history of food in Canada. I highly recommend this tour.
