I was in there briefly to visit to Norfolk General Hospital was decent. The staff I encountered were friendly, and the facility seemed clean. My friend mentioned having some nice doctors, although not all were as pleasant. A downside was only one elevator working.
Parking is paid, but there is street parking available nearby if you prefer not to pay. Iâve heard mixed stories about the hospital, but my experience was alright overall.
Each day I would imagine can be different.
We have to take it with stride. Am sure they do the best they can.

Today, my 84-year-old mom had surgery, and I canât say enough about the incredible care she received.
From start to finish, the staff showed such kindness, compassion, and professionalism. A heartfelt thank you to Lindsay, the surgical day nurse, for looking after Mom with such care and attentiveness.
A big shoutout to Dr. Evans and his surgical team, Carly, Kathy and Lisa â for everything you did today. Your expertise and gentle manner meant the world to us.
Top-notch care from a top-notch team. We are truly grateful.

When is the last time you saw a good hospital review?
When to ER after a mis- diagnosed whiplash injury following MVA.
The staff were amazingly good.
The triage nurse and resisting nurse were great
Janice, the receiving nurse was excellent.
Jane the Xray technician was perfect, as was the CT scan technician.
The ER doctor was very compassionate and helpful.
I had chest, back, rib ,and neck Xrays done, plus a full head CT scan done.
I had a full injury assessment and was in and out within 4 hours.
Top notch care!

My father has been in and out of Simcoe hospital probably about 10-15 times in the last 6-7 years. He is only 63 years old, and has had some pretty serious health concerns. His health started to decline about 15 years ago, when he got a small cut on the bottom of his foot, that wouldnât heal properly, antibiotics did nothing for him, but thatâs all Drs would give him. A year later that small cut is now a hole about as round as a pencil and about 2 inches deep. He had nurses coming once a week to check it and clean it and bandage it. (This continues for another year) each day itâs getting worse. Drs still just giving him antibiotics. But the antibiotics arenât working because now heâs immune to them. Fast forward 2022, the hole is now the size of a golf ball and his heal bone is now protruding from the hole in his foot, the bone is cracked and literally breaking apart (sorry for the vivid details), his whole leg has changed colour and now purple with more sores developing, as well as the other foot and leg are starting to do the same thing. Year 2023, since my dad has now suffered in agonizing pain for the past 13 years (with no pain medication) itâs time to amputate the leg. My dad has the surgery to remove the 1 leg up past the knee. Other foot and leg are now starting to flare up almost as bad as the one they took off. Year 2024 he is now suffering from blood infections (sepsis) and c-diff and has a blood transfusion at NGH. They send him home within a week. This continues to happen throughout 2024 multiple times. They keep pumping him full of antibiotics that will not work for him. Now March 2025, A lump develops in his neck! He starts having the odd hallucination and incoherent. My brother calls 911 sends him back to the hospital yet again. Again, sepsis, and c-diff. Dr. Ickibal decides, letâs cut this lump open and see whatâs going on! (WHY?!!) what if itâs cancer? Actually letâs cut it open and drain it 3 more times!! He is in hospital March-June, having frequent (daily) hallucinations, but seems okay letâs send him home. 4 days later he is completely out of it, shaking, canât talk, incoherent, hallucinations are extreme, we call 911, he looks like heâs had a stroke, (all signs are telling me heâs had a stroke) they take him back to NGH, heâs in ICU for 2 days and then transferred back up to 3E where he always gets moved to. I went up to see him, they wonât tell me much accept they are pretty sure he Overdosed on one of his medications. My dad looks terrified, his eyes were so big, he thinks my brother has died in an accident, he canât see me, then he can and then he canât. This goes on for 3 days, the hallucinations come on even stronger every day. He thinks my Gram is still here and sheâs passed on, and his one sister. He thinks the nurses and Drs are trying to kill him, and everyday it just gets worse. My brother and I asked for a psychiatric evaluation to be done and a sit down with the social worker and Drs. I got a phone this past Monday morning from the social worker at NGH saying Dr. White wants to send your dad home, he has an appt as an out patient with a psychiatrist on Friday morning. I asked to speak with Dr. White, I asked him why he thinks itâs okay to send my dad home. He says âthere is no medical reason to keep him in the hospitalâ. I said âReally? So these hallucinations and how bad they are and the things heâs saying, thatâs just normal to you?â His answer was âthere is people who live in the community who deal with these things everydayââŠohhh, okay then!! I said âwell Iâm sure you will see him back here within a week!â My dad is now home and hasnât gotten out of bed in 3 days. He is still hallucinating and out of it. Weâre terrified heâs going to die. We just donât know what to do anymore! We need help. I understand that people canât comment back here, but if anyone has any advice and wants to look me up on FB please feel free to! Thank you! đđ»

My nephew went to the hospital on March 10. Got test done. EKG. 2 culture test sent home. Waiting for the culture test results
2 weeks later no results. Called family dr. They said they did not get anything. Went back to the hospital today. With high fever. My sister his mom. Ask why itâs taking a long time for the test to get back. They told her there is no record that heâs been at the hospital on March 10. No blood work no ekg. No culture test. They have proof because the dr there fill out a prescription Did the hospital delete it.
2 years ago they sent him home always died went to Brantford. In septic shock. This hospital I will never go to.
donât W. A. I.
wait times are always incredibly & unnecessarily long. they also lack so much equipment, itâs insane. go to literally any other hospital if possible.

A Thank you to the day surgery staff and Doctor on the second floor. They were very thoughtful and kind. From patient registration to my short stay on the second floor to my wheelchair ride to my car, all good.
