Well it is the most livable town in Canada 🙂
Update Summer 2022: Umm, not so sure of that anymore, I don't shop here, and I don't eat here anymore, we go to Burlington 90% of time which is way friendlier, cleaner, well organized, very well managed public areas and best of all more welcoming compared to the No-Fun Town of Oakville! I'm sorry but it is true.

Hands down the most incompetently run municipality on the planet. Ever wondered what it would look like for a municipality to be run by people who barely have the IQ to operate the deep fryer at mcdonalds? Well then look no further as that is exactly who is running this city into the ground. No wonder its so poorly rated in every area.. Shocker the reviews here all reflect that 🤯

I moved to oakville on December 1, 2017. Ever since I have been in this town , I have felt respected and loved by people around me .

The Tim Hortons staff , Oakville town hall staff , Canadian blood services camp, the td bank and McDonald’s at iruquois shore and all are part of my life .

Love Oakville 🍁 and it’s people .

stupid parking enforcement department takes 2 months to review an online ticket dispute of $50, then send a decision through Email without updating anything on their online ticket system which I kept checking constantly.....what's the point of having an online ticket system if you are not going to update your decision on it but only send the decision through Email and only give me 2 weeks to pay at a reduced rate of $25. Since the Email went to junk, I missed due date they went back to charging me $50 original fine plus $30 overdue fees and MTO search fees resulting a total of $80. When I called to explain I didn't see the Email they gave me the attitude that they don't care it's my problem that I missed the Email and threatening me my only option is to pay now otherwise they will take it to MTO. I am glad I am paying tax to feed these great human beings.

To start a new business in Oakville, we applied for a building permit. Things went wrong with the agent handling our application. Not only was our application excessively delayed but also, we lost communication with the town of Oakville and knew nothing about the progress of our application. We were under extreme stress with pressure from the arrangements for renovation and rent payment.
Luckily, we met Suzanne Holder, she showed great concern for our difficult situation and spent a lot of time to keep us informed of the status of our application, so that we could quickly take action to satisfy the requirements of the application. Suzanne rescued us from further delay and bigger financial loss. Thank you, Suzanne, for your five-star service! Thank you, Town of Oakville, for selecting and developing such highly qualified employees.
Also many thanks to Jen Maveal. She is very helpful with quick responses and clear explanations of zoning policies.

My review is specifically for the clerks office. They did an amazing job for our wedding ceremony! From the beginning, Laura and Brigit took our questions with care, and showed their passion and professionalism through every step of the way.

Especially during COVID, we felt that our needs were addressed, with caution and care taken to ensure we had a wonderful time celebrating our big day with our loved ones.
