Une très belle sortie en mer, qui permet de bien voir l'habitat de différentes espèces d'oiseaux de la région et les oiseaux eux-mêmes. Nous étions trop tôt en saison pour voir des baleines, mais il y en a quand même eu une au loin. Personnel agréable et animation renseignée.

Merveilleuse journée ensoleillée, les baleines étaient au rendez-vous de même que les macareux. Le personnel et en particulier l’animateur étaient totalement dévoués aux clients. C’était un 10/10 de l’accueil jusqu’à la fin de l’excursion!

Great spot and awesome atmosphere. Boat was great and had lots of room. Crew were great and knowledgeable. We didn’t see any whales but that’s to be expected at this time of year which we knew. We saw bald eagles, puffins, and sun fish. Weather was great and clear and boat ride was relaxing. Purchased tickets online and we could see the numbers on the boat before we left. Boat holds 100 with two decks.

We booked the morning 2 hour whales and birds tour during our August visit to Newfoundland. We booked in advance and when arriving we checked in and picked up tickets from the front deck. We boarded the boat 10 minutes before departure and got a seat on the top deck with an amazing view.

We had an amazing time from beginning to end. Noah, Liam, Frank, and Captain Joe did an outstanding job of making us feel welcome and sharing their love of nature and the water with us.

We were had live singing to both welcome us and bid us farewell. We were provided with lots of information about the local birds and bird sanctuary when visiting Gull island. We started our trip out to Gull island, but then were almost immediately turning around, as they got reports of dolphins in the bay. We moved the boat out and turns out it was a whole school of dolphins. They estimated 100-150 of them - the biggest school they think they had ever seen. It was incredible. There were no whales (though we knew that was likely as it was mid August and we were told by many that whale sightings were on the decline), but their enthusiasm to share this dolphin experience was something really special. After we went back to the birds before returning home.

The boat had a bathroom and bar on board, and the option for getting screeched in (which they do at the end on the top deck - though they use a puffin instead of a cod).

We had a wonderful day on the water, much of that credit going to the kind and welcoming crew who did their best to make this a genuinely wonderful experience for all on board. I would highly recommend O’Brien’s to anyone!

Second time on this tour in Newfoundland and would recommend it to everyone I know visiting Newfoundland or the Bay Bulls area. The tour is two hours long and goes past humpback whales (during certain time of season), a puffin ecological reserve, and beautiful landscapes - including the tallest lighthouse in Canada! I’ve seen whales on prior tips and it’s a breathtaking experience.

We did a screech-in ceremony for my husband and they did an awesome job! They make it a fun memory for those new to the island with a shot of Screech, an O’Brien’s fishing hat, and a certificate.

The captain and crew were from the same family which is a nice touch. They shared lots of great information as we passed landscapes of notability. They shared songs special to Newfoundland the culture and history of the island.

They do have an inside cabin downstairs which is heated. On the day of our tour we had to wait an hour past departure for another tour group of 60 people that were late so they offered us complimentary coffee from inside the gift shop. We got a magnet and Christmas ornament.

Had the best time with O’Brien’s boat tour. We saw a humpback whale, a seal, two bald eagles and tons of puffins! The whole crew was so great, especially Con O’Brien and his cousin Patrick. Con is in a famous band and sang several local songs which we all loved, and knew everything about the area and animals. 10/10 recommend
