We were recommended to eat here by a family member because of our love for cheese. In town visiting, we chose to have our dinner here. The Charcuterie Board was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. It’s jam paired well with everything on the board. We all enjoyed the pickled Brussels sprouts as a side with the meat and cheese combinations. The Harvest Grilled Cheese Sandwich melts in your mouth, it’s so smooth. And the Potato Soup was flavourful and the onions really made it delightful. A side of bread or crackers would have been great for dipping.

Overall, the service, atmosphere, drinks, and food were the best we’ve had out in a while. Highly recommend eating here and enjoying the outdoor seating area. Big comfy and sheltered eating area.

Vermilion generally has a typical average sized town food scene, where the types of foods available are generally found anywhere. Totally acceptable, nothing especially exciting.

However, Old School Cheesery is the exception. The building is unassuming on a somewhat dilapidated older street, yet the patio is actually quite nice, and the interior has a good feel about it with large windows to view all the cheeses.

Stopped in for a quick supper and got the Harvest Grilled cheese sandwich which is notably good. The brie is so creamy and soft, and very gentle which some might prefer (the owner explained it’s due to it being a young cheese since it sells so quickly). Personally I like an aged Brie, but the sandwich was very good nonetheless, allowing for the glazed onion jam and ham flavours to shine as well.

The drink menu is excellent as well, pulling from local breweries and cideries. We had the fruit ciders which I found to be very good.

I’ve had their cheese curds as well which are excellent.

Finally, the staff are super friendly, and the service was excellent,

Overall, highly recommend a stop in if you’re in the area.

Extremely good experience! The food was excellent with a great atmosphere! Bought a lot of stuff to take home. If you’re in vermilion you have to stop in! My kid even loved it.

Finally had the chance to stop in to their store/ restaurant after buying their cheese curds for years.

Highly recommend the Queso Sticks, way better than plain mozzarella sticks any day!

What a lovely hidden gem! We stopped by for a glass of wine and charcuterie board on their beautiful patio. All of their delicious cheeses are made in house. You can also purchase some on your way out!
