Ce petit parc est un vrai bijou. Les sentiers sont courts (700 m et 450 m) mais une promanade apaisante et d'une grande beauté car la moitié du sentier est au bord d'un ruisseau qui propose une dizaine de cascades. Sentier physiquement peu exigeant, il sera apprécié par les petits comme les grands.

Beautiful gem close by the city! There are a few waterfalls which as lovely to listen to a beautiful to look at. The fall leaves are in full colour now as well! The hike/walk was pretty easy but I did find that the paths were not that well marked and there were a few times I didn't quite know where to go. But the trail is short so it wasn't a big deal!

Beautiful park with two elevated viewpoints and short, easy hikes that are perfect for families. The trails are well-maintained and offer a gentle, enjoyable walk through nature. Great place for a cool summer easy hike. 2 different trails of you want a little harder but short uphill to the Vista. great for small kids water is inches deep only but cold

Features
The park is home to a large spring that originates from the Paskapoo Formation bedrock and preglacial sands and gravels. The water is a constant 43°F (6°C) and flows continuously. The park also has a series of waterfalls, some of which emerge over rocky terraces.

Trails
The park has a short, well-worn trail that's easy to follow and has lots of tree cover. The trail is great for the whole family, but the staircase leading up to the falls may not be dog-friendly.

Activities
Visitors can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, geocaching, and picnicking. The creek is a great place for kids to play, and there are picnic tables in the pond area.

The park is located 19 km (12 mi) from Cochrane and is a short drive from Calgary.

History
Big Hill Springs was established in 1957 and was one of the first 50 provincial parks in Alberta. The park was originally designated a recreational park, but was later changed to a preservation park in 1976 due to damage caused by increased visitor use

You don't need to go to the mountains to fight crowds for a nice walk in the park. Lots of great provincial parks near Calgary like Big Spring.

Beautiful small park with easy trails and lovely spring falls and tufa formations. Looks nice even in the winter, some slippery sections so appropriate hiking footwear highly recommended.
