I drove into this provincial park as part of a road trip stop, where I hiked the Towering Aspen Nature Trail to stretch my legs. While the path was nice in certain areas, overall, it is not among the best trails I have walked on. Given the limited amount of rest stops along the nearby highway, however, this is still a good place to take a rest.

The place is QUIET and peaceful. I am as of today on #80 looking at the water on THE LAKE SIDE and having a relaxing time listening to the waves and being visited by ducks every now and then (like every 30 mins it seems! They make their rounds along the shore cause they know some campers will feed them). Those complaining about it being close to the highway either didn’t pick the right side or didn’t plan ahead/wasn’t lucky. Look at the camping map I attached, and pics of ducks of course.

What a great park!! We stayed here on our way to our destination and on our way back. I have to say, be prepared for the mosquitos! The like to really come out a particular time of the evening. Sites are pretty private. Washrooms and shower are clean. Check in staff at the gate are friendly. No staff really drive around to see if you need anything. We met many local campers there- they were beyond nice, helpful and welcoming.

Basic provincial park, not well maintained. Very un-level sites, even difficult to figure out what is a site. Restrooms were mostly pit toilets with one shower house. The beach area was nice.

Nice Campground, firewood was pretty cheap, $20 for a wheelbarrow full.Nice clean lake.
