A very nice walking trail with tons of wildlife. We saw more than 20 frogs of various types, a few small snakes, deer prints in the mud, and heard some catbirds and saw countless other birds. Lots of mosses and flowers and butterflies. The Southern half of the trail loop is mostly grass and more open while the Northern half is more wooded with some rocks and roots. The Tay River lookout is on the far end of the loop. Not a difficult hike; we took our time and read the signs and it took 1 hour and 20 mins in total. Some mosquitos and flies at a few parts, but not an unbearable about. $8 for the day pass. The service road to the boat launch is not open (July 2024).

Great spot. Only $7 for parking and everything was really well maintained. Not too busy either. Some great informational content along the trail as well.

Easy loop walk, appropriate for young children. Nice panels along the trail explaining the flora and fauna in the reserve, and the history of the area. Several picnic tables near the parking lot in a grassy area. Also one picnic table half way around the trail near the observation tower. Bring bug spray in late spring, early summer...huge mosquitoes!

The trails were very well kept and it was easy to get to the lookout. Saw lots of frogs and butterflies. There was a note on the trail map board that mentioned a bear sighting a few days earlier (which although helpful) gave us a bit of concern throughout the walk.

While it is late in the year and there weren't too many animals hanging around, the hike itself was beautiful and exceedingly picturesque. Highly recommended for those who stroll slowly to take in all of what the environment offers. A beautiful trail.

A well-treed, loop trail to a lookout with a great view of the Tay Marsh. It is a 3km, easy route with lots of birds to see along the way. Parking and washrooms are available.

Nice well maintained trails. Worth the day parking pass ($7), or the annual ($50) if you live nearby.. Spent a few hours here walking with the kids. The signs drawing attention to the various wildlife as you walk through were informative and well placed.
