I love the Visitor's Centre at the Venture North building in Downtown Peterborough! I visited yesterday to get the new 2024 Official Peterborough and the Kawarthas Guide with the cool cover completed by local artist Jason Wilkins. The staff are very knowledgeable and kind. The space is beautifully decorated and I love that they hire local artists to create wonderful window art for the exterior of the building. At night, the art can be seen from the road as you are passing through the downtown to enjoy a delicious meal or attending an event.

A small visitors centre. There really isn't much signage outside the building indicating where the visitors centre is. You'll see the signs when you enter the building. There are washrooms further in the building, down a hallway. In the visitors centre, there are many brochures of what Peterborough has to offer and what Ontario has to offer. There's also a guest book that you can sign. The person at the desk didn't really speak to us. If we asked a question, she would answer but it's short and quick. Overall, it's a good place to get information.

Hard to find--signage is less than great. No public washroom, no wifi. Help was friendly, and they pointed us to the brochures and were available for questions, but they did not would not give recommendations or suggestions.

Great place to go if you want to know more about the area.They had free Ice Cream from Smith dairys.

Curiously, the business hours have it closed on Saturdays in August, i.e., not open in the middle of tourism season. No local maps / guides available outside for when it is closed.

Nice welcome centre. A Tim Hortons is located conveniently across the street.
