Pickering GO Station is a well-connected transit hub in Durham Region, making it a convenient choice for commuters traveling to and from Toronto. Here are some key aspects of the station:

✔ Convenient Location – Located near Highway 401, making it easy to access by car.
✔ Frequent Train Service – Serves the Lakeshore East line, providing reliable connections to Union Station and other destinations.
✔ Plenty of Parking – The multi-level parking structure offers ample parking spaces, including reserved spots.
✔ Pedestrian Bridge to the Mall – A covered pedestrian bridge connects directly to Pickering Town Centre, which is great for grabbing a bite or shopping.
✔ Bus Connections – Serves both GO and Durham Region Transit buses, offering good transit links beyond the train service.

The main station building is under going construction which includes the main tunnel. The washrooms and coffee shop are open in the main building. You need to use the west tunnel or East Pedestrian bridge if you enter from the Bayly Street portion of the Station to get to track 1 or 2. This is a good hub for getting to down town Toronto using the train.

When I first used the go train in 1967 there was one track, dirt parking lot, and a wooden platform with a little ticket booth the size of a small shed. As you can see it's grown quite a bit.

This is absolutely the worst station. In order to reach the local bus in Pickering once you arrive from a go transit bus you have to climb up a set of at least 25 steps to c4oss over. I am healthy and have no problems walking but what if someone did. The climb is way too strenuous. Don't suggest it.

Parking was ample , however overall condition of station is deplorable,! needs more lighting for safety
Difficult to navigate platforms , snow not cleaned away safety slip/ fall concern, dirty platforms having crumbling concrete( which is way past repair state! Where are the engineers / contractorsThis has been years in the making!
Found a person ? Sleeping on the 2nd level of parking where is security? Elevators out of service
How do you expect people with disabilities to get around? Shameful conditions, needs inspection & repair asap!

I am still new at Canada and I travelled around Pickering to meet for somebody and as a first-time commuter, direction is very important. Luckily, because of proper road signs and mapping, I was able to find the people I have to meet with. I am thankful to the connecting bridge from the other side going to another.

Layout can be hard to grapple for first timers. Definitely give yourself ample time to figure out parking and where you need to go.
