I worked for this company for over a year and a half. They are good at keeping trucks and trailers well maintained and planning trips effectively. However, the reason I decided to leave is that they did not pay me for my waiting time. They informed me that I needed to report my wait time within 24 hours; if I didn’t, they would not compensate me as a lesson for the future. Additionally, they seem to give preference to certain drivers based on their skin color when assigning loads. Furthermore, the dispatch team for Canadian loads treats drivers very negatively and does not know how to communicate appropriately with them.

The best trucking company to work with. I am working for last 3+ years and it’s just fantastic. Everyone you name it simply awesome. They basically take care of us which is the best part of this company.

This afternoon just before 4pm in Morris, Mb while entering the construction on hwy 75 your driver of truck 614 almost side swiped my father’s gravel truck and ran him on to the shoulder as he sped up to get around my dad. Not sure how you do not see a bright flame painted semi in the middle of the day….do better

Awesome place to use for many reasons... Fast response, very clean, people are great to deal with! Lots of happy people at work it almost seemed strange. I was always using Searcy trucking until they ruined multiple rims and smashing different vehicles that they were transporting for me. I was always disappointed with Searcy, and the atmosphere was nothing like Portage Transport. I won't do any transporting unless it's Portage Transport!

My driver had a delivery in MB but the location couldn't offload due to no dock. I called the folks at Portage as they were nearby. They offered to move the skid to the back of my drivers trailer so the original delivery location could offload from the ground. They didn't charge me a penny. Really good helpful people. As a Freight Broker, I've also hired Portage for moving my shipments and the service is always top notch. I highly recommend them!
One more thing...I was having trouble getting through to any extension but Carol, the receptionist tried tirelessly to put me through, then when that didn't work, she went herself to the dispatch area and had someone take my call. She knew I was in a real bind and her extra effort solved my issue. Thanks again Carol, Jay and Peter.

I’m very sorry to say is your the very worst company that has promised and broke their promises to their drivers and especially dropping the mileage down to .44 cents a mile doesn’t cut it and especially when they have expensive bills to pay and can’t have money to themselves, stop whining about speed or this or that.. after being a driver and working for this company past 6 months ur mileage cents goes up not what u want and when someone refers a new driver to the company gets the $500 in 4 months not longer so u need to fix that… theirs another thing I want to warn all drivers that they really like to screw u by acussing a person right on the spot and saying and pointing straight to that person and not coming to that person directly and saying is this urs no they don’t.. everyone on here are wrong about this rip off company

Be extremely cautious giving this company freight. My company and myself personally gave this company hundreds of thousands worth of freight each year and they blatantly back solicited our clients. My clients told me about it and when we called them out for it they simply did not care. They specifically told us their sales reps call on the shippers and consignees of their 3PL partners. If you are a shipper or a 3PL, you need to be very cautious. Portage Transport does not value relationships and will do anything to try and get ahead. My company and I treat our carriers as true partners so this is not the standard case of “bad broker”. Reach out to me on LinkedIn if you ever need more information.

Very good lanes, for those of you who like runs to TX, CA, PA and such, this is the place, they have tons of it. Mileage and pay are great, always on time and no issues. New trucks and trailers for the most part.
Expect to be treated very impatiently and even yelled at by some dispatchers at times. When having issues after hours (except breakdowns) do not bother to call, you will not get helped, nobody cares.
Other drivers do not report defects on equipment, expect to spend hours almost every single trip for repairs when hooking up to a trailer.
