Friendly staff who went above and beyond to accommodate our 35 member choir. The room was basic but clean with towels replaced daily. Nice Lavazza coffee in room. The continental breakfast had a nice variety. Lovely inner courtyard. Good central location.I would stay here again

This hotel has new owners and had been fully renovated. It was simple but spotless and the staff were fantastic and so helpful. They were also friendly and welcoming. Great value and a great experience. Great location downtown. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Powell River Town Centre Hotel in February. It's a very nice hotel for a small town. The Rooms are modern and clean, its a quiet hotel and its located near a mall and shopping plaza. The location is great as there is a grocery stone near by, few food outlets and the hotel has two restaurants as well. Rooms have a microwave, a large (for a hotel) fridge, so you can pick up things at the grocery store or save leftovers. Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Despite placing the “Maid Service Please” sign on my door each day, housekeeping never came—not even once. After long workdays, I returned to find the room completely untouched: no fresh towels, no garbage emptied, and no basic cleaning done.

I reported the issue to the front desk and was told a note would be made, but that housekeeping had already left for the day. The exact same situation happened again the third evening, I received the same excuse, with no accountability or effort to resolve the issue.

To make matters worse, the receptionist was consistently rude and dismissive, displaying a complete lack of professionalism—and frankly, an attitude that felt discriminatory and deeply disrespectful. It’s clear the hotel staff has little regard for guest experience.

The only positive thing about this place is its location. I’ve visited Powell River four times and stayed at Beach Gardens twice without ever having such a negative experience. Unfortunately, due to the poor service and unacceptable treatment here, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This outdated hotel left me with many disappointments. First of all, the "automatic" front door doesn't open automatically — it must be pulled open by hand, which already gave a poor first impression. I had requested an extra bed well in advance, but when I arrived after 7 p.m., it was not in the room. I had to go to the front desk and ask someone to bring it in.

As for the extra bed itself — it was shaped like a "U," sagging badly in the middle, making for an extremely uncomfortable night's sleep.

There was also a white panel mounted on the wall in the room, with no label or explanation of its purpose, but it emitted a strange noise throughout the night. It disrupted my sleep so badly that I finally had to unplug it.

The so-called continental breakfast offered nothing warm or comforting for my 70-year-old parents visiting from China — it was completely underwhelming.

Finally, when checking out, I was told that the payment I had already made via Booking.com could not be used, and I was required to submit payment again.

At this point, I can’t help but feel that all of these issues weren’t just a coincidence — it was a consistently poor experience from start to finish.

Very friendly welcome, dated but clean rooms, cheerful housekeeping staff.
Only thing I was surprised by was no microwave.
Great continental breakfast choices.
Would stay here again for sure.

Wish there was a ZERO star. Will NEVER be staying here again. I'm actually surprised how are they even in business with the attitude they show towards guests. This was our first visit to participate in my Son's hockey tournament over 2 days from Fri, Feb 21 - 23. Here is a list of things that ruined our experience. 1. The Hotel entrance has a pungent smell that doesn't go away 2. The reception staff have no customer service skills. It felt like they all have taken a special course on passive-aggression. Just at check-in, it felt like the were scolding my son like he was suspected to burn the hotel down. And that too while I was right there vouching that we are rules abiding by nature. 3. They have zero flexibility and not accommodating at all. After a long journey from Vancouver, we couldn't check in a couple hrs early to rest. The response was "we have strict instructions from the Manager to not check anyone in before 3 pm even if the room is ready". Really? Wow! Have some compassion towards young kids who might have a game to get ready for in the evening, and could benefit from some rest to energize. Just an hour before regular 3 pm check in time is all we asked for. Cookie Cutter approach is bad business sense 4. Housekeeping was a disaster! All she did was replace the towels. Did not make the beds, empty the trash or vaccum. Save your money and look elsewhere! My honest recommendation is to stay away from this hotel unless they get their act together and take all this feedback seriously to make improvements with their attitudes towards hospitality!
